Thanks Rh.Will go thru the websites u mentioned.
Aditi,Pls post ur experience after ur skype session with Dr.Deepak Gupta.
@ chukki, sure i will
actually i m confused between stem cell therapy and Dr Deepak Gupta's therapy... i m not sure what to do ???
uptill now i made my own efforts for my child....
those are all drugless efforts but my son improves...... he had ASD and it turns into mild autism asperger..... but i want my son to be normal....
there are lot and lots of therapies ......... i wonder what to do ?
i never tried any therapy on him. i did it on my way. even i didnt tried OT also.....
as i joined this group, i come to know parents are more conscious and curious abt their children and they are trying very hard to get rid of this problem......
i talked yesterday with the lady, she gave HBOT to her kid. but the change is so little that even she cannot recognize it.
they invested nearly 1 lakhs 50 thousands on it.
is it worth to invest a huge amt with of no use ?????
what should i do ???
please reply .......
stem cell therapy is also one of the type of biomedical treatment, biomedical treatment comprises of various treatments done by allopathic doctors,
stem cell therapy is very costly with little evidence to support its efficacy, go for it later, after utilising other forms of biomedical treatments which are much cheaper and have better evidence, one example is GFCF diet, this diet change is also biomedical treatment.
@aditi, go for HBOT just one step prior to stem cell therapy, keep these two for much later,
there is much to do before these two, u take session from dr deepak gupta, and whenever u r in doubt u can ask in this forum, we all r with u,
TOGETHER WE MAKE A STRENGTH
Hi Aditis, Very glad to hear your son has improved so much just with your effort and no therapies, Keep your hopes high, Biomedical will only take him a step ahead. Biomedical is mainly to clean the body, get rid of yeast, parasites, heavy metals and to add supplements as per the kids need. probably your son will come out of the diagnosis with this.
I have done 40 dives of HBOT for my son, we couldn't continue as the center was very far and we didn't have time for other things when we did HBOT. As you said for your friend, the improvements were very less for us, probably would have seen more improvements if i had done more. We didn't see any negatives. There are people who have done 300 hrs and keep doing it. It helps if you have the portable chamber at home, but it is expensive and we were worried my son may just ripp it off with any sharp object.
For Stem cell, my husband attended Stem cell seminar by the Panama Stem cell center once, they said before you do the stem cell, the body has to be cleaned, i.e get rid of metals, yeast, parasites, then go for stem cell. Also they didn't assure that it will cure him, they just said we have to take our chances. it is different for everyone. One of our friend did it , they had huge gains but everything went off in 6 months. so we are still skeptical about it.
So with all this, biomedical and diet is the first step for everything., Whether HBOT or Stem cell, diet is required before that. All the best.
Jeyanthini is a reknowned psych in chennai for children. She uses the CARS method to diagnose children(rather she delegates this to her assistant), however her advice is good. For a diagnosis one can go to her. She charges 600 Rs per visit, and waiting period is nearly a month. I think the charge has increased to 800 , I'm not sure though..
However be aware that psychiatrists will prescribe medications even if the child is only 2 years old.
The detailed assessment costs 1500 Rs I think, probably increased now.
My suggestion to all. Don't try too much so early.First understand which treatment will cure what??
Their are 3 kind of symtoms in an autism child:
i) Core symptoms ii) Co-morbid symptoms iii) Pathological symptoms.
For every kind of symptoms their are different posible treatments & have limitations.
For detail understanding please watch the Video link.
paste this link on your browser and watch the full video.
That will give you more insight.
For Son rise program, pls go to their website for better understanding & watch Video.
Their 3 techniques shown at Video uploaded seems really good.
i) Distraction free environment ii) Joining iii) Eye contact
Their start up program is of 5 days cost 2200 $ which include accomodation also.
Only thing is this program is running in US so the person will have to travel from India.Watch video placed at link for better insight on their technequies
I have also ordered books on their site & thinking of joining the same next year as I am already undergo following therapies for my 3 year old son & want to see their results first.
i) OT & Speech Therapy (Since last 5 months)
ii) ABA ( Since last 1 month in addition to OT & Speech).
iii) Homeo pathy (I started 1 month back & not happy with Dr. Sharma medicines).
iv) Planning to start Bio-medical intervention also.
I also feel that you should consult one Pediatric Neurologist also once. I have consulted Dr. Nitin Maheshwari at Medicity, Gurgaon one month back.
thanks for your wonderful help and sugessins@rh, the stem cell in sion hospital is free. or they take minimum charges.(its a govt hospital). but we are more depends on the results. thats why i think i will ask Dr Deepak for this first. i will ask to sion hospital mumbai also,as the symptoms are less it is very diffcult to chose the right one.....@ lita the HBOT machine for one person costs 1 lakhs near mumbai. so lets see what we can do the best for our child
@aditi, thank u very much for sharing information about sion hospital, will keep this in mind :)
I HAD planed MY child's future and I am enjoying to chase it.
His aim is OUR dream and WE AND OUR FAMILY are biting the difficulties for that. .............................................................
plz check this link about a boy roman, who completely recovered by his mother's efforts
thanks, it wil help me lot...
u r welcome aditi,
finally today we got slide, swing and trampoline for my daughter,
and u know she is also using trampoline to hide beneath it (like a caterpillar tunnel) and also as a bed, lolz
i just hope that she keeps playing with these , finally we have added some outdoor play for her,
i am also gonna make sand pit for her with soon and will add some toys in it, she already has gardening and beach set,
i have also ordered RAINDROPS ON ROMAN book, it seems that it is MY STORY ..... :) (left career, devoting all the time to daughter, adding all the activities, play and all sorts of behavioural training to teach her straight 10 hrs a day, husband working extra hard to support financially, it is just my story)
@NJ--Good psychiatrists prescribe medications to children only when other nterventions fail and symptoms are severe enough to warrant medications.
rh, my experience has been different. I have consulted with a reknowned child psych in chennai and spoken with some child psychiatrists among friends and family. Everyone I have spoken to say that for children diagnosed with autistic traits, they prescribe low dose risperidone along with conventional therapies like OT(sensory integration therapy) and ST. They prescribe the meds even for mild symptoms and for very young children as well. For many kids it controls the hyperactivity and aggressiveness immediately, thereby making therapies effective and management of the child simpler. I know a case of a 3.5 year old child who was on these meds and went to OT for about 6 months. Within a month the childs hyperactivity was down and the child was sitting for the first time and started talking his first word within a month. But the mother and child left for gulf and now the mother do not give the child any professional OT due to some inconvenience, but is continuing the medications. But the child has not regressed, but is making continous improvements. So imo, in this case of this particular child, its the med that helped him(and the professional therapies were just riding on the success of the meds). Many never disclose that their child is on meds and some say that they discontinued meds after the child has reached 3-4 years old. But how much of that is true and if the child is continuing to be on the meds is a statistics we may never come to know. IMO I would never think of meds for very young children and the effects it has on growing brains. I also believe like you that Meds are the last resort after everything else is tried out , and for older children(probably 8 years and above).
The neurologists, ENT specialists and development peds who assess children for disorders do not prescribe meds though. Their usual approach is the conventional therapies.
my paed is agaisnt medicines.we were told to go to a psychologist for assessment .
so there are different opinions about the diagnosis and the treatment.
it is baffling for the parents whether they are right on thier track.
medicines help the child to concentrate in the job or schooling. drugs help them only in that period when they need more concentration. my child is also on medication. they help my child a lot. previously he didn't understand any word from school. but after 3 years of continuous medication he understands the things very well and he reacts also wel. all the medicines in large consumption is dangerous but i personally think that those are made for theses kids only then they are safe for them too
aditis, Very true that meds(especially risperidone) do help with controlling the symptoms and thereby help with progress.. I heard that it helps some of the kids(few I heard had adverse reactions). Risperidone is something which is very commonly prescribed for these kids as its said to work on most of the children, and the dose is prescribed as per the age, weight and severity of the issue. The effects that Risperidone gives are longer lasting and does not have the side-effects of the other prescribed drugs like ritalin and concerta.. . I dont want to scare anyone who is taking the meds longterm. I just wish good will to everyone... I'm also a parent like you.. Hope we all can get through this.
Does anyone know any doctors who does Chelation? I know many of you may be against it, but Is there any doctor in India, who tests the heavy metals in the body and use the appropriate chelation. Mostly the Dan Doctors do that, Any idea if Dr Deepak Gupta works on this?
my kid is a picky eater...and has very limited choice of items...at times becomes difficlut to feed him...same kind of stuff all the time...
