Regarding your suggestion on team play and particpation i take a note.

Actually in her school i noticed that her way of mingling with kids is she calls their name 2-3 time, she just touches in their shoulder saying their name or just hug them and call their name.

In the snacks break, she had spread her napkin and kept her box, the girl next to her didnt have a napkin, so she asked (say her name is "D") "D, where is your napkin? but that girl didnt answer my kid she just continued eating, so my kid asked her again the same question,  other kids mom had also come for observation, she told to tell her kid that "I dont have napkin today" but that kid didnt repeat that also she just continued her task.

Other think i noticed, is when the Asst. teacher came near her, she pointed out something that had fallen down and told soemthing (I could not hear it clearly as i was sitting away) For that her teacher replied, "Its OK, not a problem" which i was able to hear.

Regarding back and forth communication she seems to be just getting it with us. When i ask a question she repeats so when i ask a 2nd/3rd question related to that she will answer if she knows otherwise she will keep quite or might give random answer. But not sure if she is able to do it with her peers in the class

As there are not many kids of her age near my house, i am doing a group speech class 45 min/1 day where they say she lags in Topic initiation or joint attention, which i too know. It is only 4 class that she into group. May be eventually she will get it. But i need to work on that

VL,

I have read that black walnut and wormwood should not be given to children under 2 years. Many kids do use this. I used this after a mother told me she used this to deworm her 6 year old daughter. The first dose I gave in Jan 2011 , when my son was 2.5 years old. The second time I gave it in Jan 2012. I never noticed worms in his stools whether I gave allopathic or herbal meds. But if you face constipation with it you may want to stop this.

For my son stinky gas and stools were due to increase in yeast. I remember when I was giving ragi with palm sugar he used to have this problem. Even few months ago while we were travelling and we did not have anything else to give except bananas, he ate 4 of them at a stretch and he got stinky gas that night, Then I gave him GSE for a couple of days.

Yes, Guava will ease constipation. Any fruits and veggies for that matter , since they have high fiber content.

My suggestion is if you are seeing adverse effects like constipation then stop. I did not face stinky gas issue with wormwood. I have heard the foul smell could also be a die off. But with my son I have observed it comes whenever his sugar intake that day gets very high.

Regarding the peer conversation, I dont know about the other kid(if she has a problem), but I think your kid did fine.

Repeating question instead of answering is trait of these kids. They repeat if they dont know the answer. Teach her to say "I dont know" for things she does not have the answer to. The method I used is- I ask a question which I'm sure my kid does not know the answer to(and for which I'm sure he would echo ), but before he answers , I would say "I dont know", So that he echos "I dont know" instead of the question. While she asks you a question also you may say "I dont know" to a few questions to role model for her. After a few practice sessions she will get this.

Hi NJ,

Thanks for your suggestions. Regarding the speech to answer "I dont know" I was also trying to following the same kind of approach. Now she is saying "I dont know" few times but i should observe and see if she is able think and tell properly. I find that she is getting into speaking multiple sentences slowly but again one that i noticed is that she applies the same what she started saying exactly the same way for similar situations. For initial pickup i feel its ok.

I completed the wormwood course yesterday. Her constipation eased after 4 days of initially struggle and she passed motion like once a day but 1 day in between (day before) she skipped again. But throught the course i was able see that mild wheeze like symptom and she did have stinky stool (earlier she didnt have that much smell) I presumed it to be yeast die off and just left.

One think i noticed is she shouts a lots and has started making howling like noise also a bit. Not sure what is the reason? Is it due Yeast or Phenol issue? I have not included any Yeast med or enzyme for phenol so far.. Should i try?

Yesterday we had taken to one of our friends house. So while we were going itself i started preparing her like when we go inside you should first greet and try to sit in sofa/chair quitely etc. So when she entered she immediately greeted and was calm for some time. Later they brought lays chips /creme biscuits and also had given her a chocolates (i tried to avoid but they had still given a small one). Then she wanted more of chips so she went and tried to open their fridge and look for it and she was constantly pestering saying give me chips.. also she was running aroudn a bit. But overall i felt she was little better but not the best thought. So i thought i will start doing the prep thing so that she will slowly start understanding

Next i planning to start the multivitamin wafer after 4-5 days and then CLO. Which is the best time to give CLO. Will night course be OK or should it be given in day. Also any condition that multivitamin and CLO should be given after food

Hi, I am new to this site, and this post might not be on the appropriate thread, please accept my apologies. I am suffering from histamine intolerance and major food sensitivities, and I came across Kirkman Lab Multivitamins, but I live in Kolkata and this brand is not available here. Can u please suggest if it is available in any of the indian metro cities and also the details as to where it is available. If not, please suggest a site for online purchase, most of the sites that i have seen either dont ship to india, and if at all they do, the product that i need is not available (Spectrum Complete II Hypoallergenic Capsules). It would be great if you could help me avail these multivitamins. Thank you very much. May God Bless you.

My son (3.4 years) is also an ASD; and we detected it 6 months back.....He is too much fond of milk.

You can try Soya milk. That is working for my son.

Mylilson,

After reading ur mail i could not resist myself from writting to you. Please stop the soya milk as it contains soya and is not good for kids who have sensitivity towards casein n gluten. Please consult appropriate doctor n start gfcf diet asap.

My son too was very fond of milk but when i eventually stopped it was difficult but then slowly he forgot about it and now its been one year i have seen tremendous changes in him.

I know its difficult but its not impossible just take the first step and you will see wonders.

mim81,

Have you tried fish oils for speech? When I started casein free , I saw good attention in my son, pointing, as well as trying to vocalize. Fish oils with EPA of 1 gm per day dosage is what triggered speech in my son.

Another option for speech is that - Some people have had good results with DMG/TMG for speech. Also give folic acid if you are giving DMG/TMG. In case you decide on trying DMG/TMG for speech, first give folic acid for a week and then start DMG/TMG.

Along with avoiding casein and gluten, I also had avoided a host of other foods for 6 months.

While on casein free diet, its best to also avoid ghee for a month as howmuchever ghee is cleansed of the milk protein there will always be traces remaining and some children would get affected by even trace amounts. After a month add back ghee and check if you can observe changes in the behavior.

NJ 2012-08-24 10:05:23

loveleen,

As VL said iherb.com has a host of products and they ship to India. Other sites are rockwell nutrition.

For your food sensitivities you may want to try digestive enzymes. I use "digest gold" from enzymedica.

NJ 2012-08-24 10:08:31

mylilson,

How are you making the soya milk. Are you getting the tetra packs? or you are making fresh homemade soya milk. If you are buying the tetra packs, it has high sugar and artificials. Thats reason alone to avoid soya milk from the packs. Try avoiding for a week and then add back the soya milk(ie home made). If soya is an allergen, it will get removed from the body in 72 hours like casein.

NJ 2012-08-24 10:12:52

Ankur,

Usually homeopathy and ayurveda are slower working compared to the biomed supplements. So you may need to wait for atleast 3 months to determine if homeopathy or ayurveda is working for you.

Akhil health foods are very slow to respond and only have a few brands mostly they are distributors of Kirkmans. iherb.com ships to India and they have a lot more supplements to choose from.

mylilson 2012-08-24 11:17:23

Hi NJ,

I have completely stopped soya milk from last 2 months and i see hyperactivity getting controlled (though little) , I was giving from tetra packs only.

Thanks for your response.

For speech I gave OMG3 (core omega) sachet (got from USA) and it really worked. My son can speak any word but meaningful is not there, he can sing all bollywood numbers and can sing many rhymes etc...catches very fast from visual cues but daily talking is very little(hardly). But I am very optimistic and keep talking...to him...I know one fine day he'll repond to me....

Can you share your number...thru mail may be we can talk some time.

Best Rgds

Ayushi

mylilson, I have messaged you now.

raj0072000in 2012-09-28 23:53:22

is their any suitable dietician at Delhi NCR to guide for GFCF diet plan for my 3 year old son??

raj0072000in 2012-10-01 22:15:47

We have purchased rice milk, coconut milk & some glutine free products like biscuits, pasta, macroni, aata etc.

We have stopped my son's dairy milk completely from last 2 days & enforcing him for rice milk. We have also added some badam milk along with rice milk.Initially He was very resistent but now he has started taking it.

Today we have also purchased Dairy free Soya milk pack from La Marche. Can some tell is that also casein free. Should we try this diet change own our own or we require consultation.

We have already taken appointment of Child Phychatrist Dr. Deepak Gupta (At Delhi) for 10th Oct'12.

Just praying from the God that all actions will place well for my 3 year old son.

Lita 2012-10-01 23:00:24

Hi Raj, not sure of all the products you bought but read labels whenever you buy, avoid Soy also if it is possible, Usually whoever follows the diet it is like

GFCFSFCF( i.e Gluten Free Casein Free Soy Free Corn Free)

No preservative

No colors

No Sugar

Above that we go for

NO Yeast No Vinegar

Most of the foods are made from scratch at home to avoid hidden ingredients.

Please go through all the five pages of this post you will get lot of info here. These discussions have helped many. Thank you ladies.

raunak24 2012-10-02 01:13:42

Hi Raj,

I was going through ur mail and i would sincerely suggest not to give any products which soy, corn, casein, gluten, sour, sugar content in it.Any food which has artificial flavours and colours are a no no for our children. No yeast or vinegar is allowed for our kids.

If any help required do ctc back all the best

SG

Lita 2012-10-02 03:32:43

 Hi sg,

You mentioned avoid sour, does that include only fermented food or should we avoid tamarind, aamchur, tomatoes.....

Does it help with reflux or any other issues, I have not done this yet, i avoid fermented food for yeast issues, so just wanted to check before starting.

Thanks

raj0072000in 2012-10-02 04:24:34

Thanks Lita for the suggestion. I have gonethrough the entire past conversation & belive me it give immense insight.

While checking the past coversation I understand some real good terms like Iherb for ordering Multivitamin/calcium etc for supplements.

Also GEC/allovera for controlling yeast. I feel for my son it probably required as He have serious Wax issue in his ear & speech issue (3 year old).

We have already started with Rice & almond milk 2 days back howevr through NJ post we understand that it contain less protein only 1 gm against 10 gm of normal dairy milk & we should have to order some other suppliment.

My request is to kindly help me in prepairing my son diet chart. ( Which supplement should I order & how should I plan his diet chart suitable for him.)
