Aspergers in my son discovered four years ago

I have son with aspergers doing phd in US .
 He is having difficulty in communication with his guide.
He is not progressing ,getting frustrated.
He doesnt know about his having aspergers.
.i am unable to go to US due to visa restrictions.its been five years for him struggling alone

.please advise how can i help him. i am desparate ,i know he needs help
