It is right next to Water World (Rs 200 extra) and Star City (video games. Extra cost). There is also bowling and go carting at extra cost. Have heard that Water World is not as good as Wonder LA and that the water may not be as clean. But might be worth a try on a hot summer day since it is right in the city.

Driving a further 0.4 km (400 meters) you will see a Banyan tree on your right and an electric transformer on your left, with a left turn by its side. The large signage in Kannada with a red arrow pointing left is showing you the road leading you to the steps that will take you to the temple at the top of Nandi Hill. Take this left turn and within 20 seconds you will sight our farm and house at a slight elevation. Drive straight up to our gate, which again is marked by another electric transformer next to it.

... Leela hotel. We love the palm garden and the man made waterfall. We sit outside and have Barista coffee while the kids romp around there. Many times we call our friends and just meet up there.
Near the city, for a day trip we love the Silver Oak farm. A casual homestay. You can go there just for the day. Just have lunch and hang about, climb Nandi Hill and come back.
We also love the

... "Lal Bagh" walk conducted by Bangalore Walks. Conducted by the Pai couple, early Sunday mornings. Focused on nature (trees, birds etc.) and Bangalore heritage. Walk is followed by a hot dosa breakfast at the famous MTR nearby.http://www.bangalorewalks.com/indiv.htm. (We still have not done this yet. But have heard great things about it and is on my list to check out)
Other facts about Lalbagh:
It is open from 6 am to 7 pm every day.
It was first laid out by Hyder Ali (Tipu Sultan's father) in the 18th century. Was expanded by the British and other governments.

... -nursery) program and have classes until 7th Std. They follow the ICSE curriculum. A few parents I spoke to had the concern that since this school does not have until 10th Std. they are not considering. That's the last on my list to begin with. I'm here for pre-nursery who knows if we continue to stay in Bangalore or not and moreover, maybe a few years down the line the school might introduce more classes too, who knows? I think it's too far-sighted to base a decision for securing admission in pre-nursery by considering 10th Std. which is still years away. The nursery and pre-nursery sessions were over when I visited ...
... anger on my child? Or should I approach the Asst-Principal? Will this be more embarassing for the teacher? What should I advise my child-If I encourage him to speak up in the class, will he be branded as 'over-smart'? If I ask him to be silent, am I teaching him to be a silent spectator to many other such things which may occur in his life?
Any advice?

Hi,
Most of the Nandhini and Shanti Sagar restaurants in Bangalore have party hall which they give for Bday parties; the hall is free if you order food through them and it is charged per plate. Starts from around Rs. 175 per plate for veg menu.

I want her to assert herself if she is not in the worng and not to show her friend that her behaviour is hurting her so much. I eally dont know what to do in such situations - should I intervene and talk to the friend, or stop my daughter from playing with her or just let things take thier own course even if my daughter comes home crying and asks me to talk to her firend?

I liked your post. you are right. We parents seem too busy these days to really listen to our children. Even when we are so-called listening our mind thinks of the things to do next. But parents are also under tremendous pressure. So I wouldnt like to blame them. We need to be aware that we sometimes appear too busy for the little ones.put a break and make ourselves completely available to them.

Hi,
I do agree that things are not very transparent about the fees. Especially because of the NRI quota. As far as I know, there is no other quota and everybody else entering in the same year in the same class should be in the same bracket. And within that quota, increase/freeze/decrease ...

During our daily park visits when my son one was very young, to play with kids who were taken care by nannies, grandparents I had an opportunity to observe/chat with them.
Following few important things to observe in your child after hiring a new care giver:
1. Food and hunger
2. Sleep habits
3. Cranky/crabby behavior
4. Like and dislike for any particular toy/food
5. Change in method of getting attention
