Schools, Punishment and Fear

There was an article on The Hindu Magazine recently called "Summer of Hope?" by Jayashree Nambiar the Principal of The School KFI.

The article talks about various topics like  punishments in schools, focusing on the examination results, violence in and outside schools etc. which are so true in this day and age.

With schools reopening after the vacations, can we hope for a change where true education takes place in an atmosphere of trust and joy? Or will we see the horror stories of last year, of punishment and fear, repeated again?
