Homeschooling in Hyderabad

Hi friends,

This is Shailaja. a homeschooling mother of a 16yr old. Any likeminded parents looking to homeschool their children can get in touch with me. My son has finished his IGCSE( cambridge international curriculum) and doing his A levels now.

Right now, we are a group of 3 parents who deiced to homeschool our children and make them sit the IGCSE/ A levels, this May/ June and Oct/Nov.

As we are coming across many parents willing to homeschool their children and looking for curriculum support and practice materials, i thought this would be the right platform to introduce ourselves.

Hi Shailaja

I am interested in the homeschooling option for the A Levels. Your experience in locating suitable

Dear Shailaja Madam,

From a Hong Kong university, I will be visiting ISB for a year (July 1 to June 30). I wonder if you can offer help for the home schooling of my children (right now they are in class 10 and 6 and will be moving to 11 and 7 in June). We will be staying at the ISB campus at Gachibowli. Hi Shailaja...

I have gone through all the chain of comments below. I have similar questions and will add more.
I really want to talk to you about aspects like:

1. Mode of instruction
2. Role of parents
3. Curriculum design
4. Fee structure
5. Certification and its validity in higher studies etc..

Dear Shailaja,

Thanks a lot for your inputs on Homeschooling. My daughter is now doing 6th standard and she feels that Homeschooling is better for her and I am also of the same view considering the school environment and related pressures the child is undergoing, but I am not able to grasp the full picture of the system - its curriculum, fees, exam system and acceptability for higher education.

I first read your article in EENADU sunday magazine and very much impressed by the story. I would like to meet you with my kid at your convenient time - we stay in Secundrabad. I request you to provide further inputs by mail.

Hi Shailaja,

My Daughter is now 2.4yrs..and now planning to Play School...before that i would like to approach you and check this Home Schooling how practically can be done with the kids..as I got another son of 8yrs. old studying in Chinmaya vidyalaya..in a comfortable stage..and after hearing this Home schooling..thought this can be done on my daughter..and need some imp..clarifications like how can a child share all his/her views and with their parents ,as some should be shared with the friends of their own age group and need help in clarifying how we can build competitive spirit being single..instead of group...

Hi Shailaja,
My son is in UKG. We searched and gathered information for i std. But fees and comparatively quality of education, we feel the necessity of homeschooling. In fact I just started gathering information about Homeschooling, but did not get a clear view of how to do it.
I would be really grateful if you kindly let me know details about homeschooling. and throw some light if child feels lonely or how he socially behaves etc.

Hi Shailaja,
This is Rekha.I have a query regarding Engineering College admission for IGCSE students.My cousin has completed her 12th standard (I think its called A level) and is now on look out for Engineering college in Bangalore.The college management says that they can give admission only after she gets the result.But their results will be out in August.
In one of your post, I read that your son joined Engineering college after completing IGCSE.So could you please provide some information on what is the process to get into college.Its very urgent.Your inputs are very much appreciated.

Hi ,
We homeschool our kids in the US and are likely to move back to Hyderabad soon. Would appreciate some inputs and information . They are 9, 7 ,2 yrs.So far they have done very well. Woul ld like to know more about the scenario in India.

I am a resident of Hyderabad. Very happy to hear that home schooling is slowly catching up. I am the mother of a 5 month old and I always envisioned home schooling my children. i am totally new to parentree. I was checking some information on homeschooling in india and was thrilled to know that u are doing it.

i m based in navi mumbai and planning to do the same for my child who is now only 2.5 years.

was jus keen to know exactly how you started and where u got the support from, regarding the syallabi etc
