Description
Peek-a-boo Patterns is a store that deals exclusively with children's furnishing, and caters to the needs of parents looking at making their childrens' rooms special and unique. The store has a host of things to offer - from a range of curtains, blinds, throws, cushions, bed linen and more.
Peek-a-boo's forte is 'customization' - anything can be altered in design or size as per the client's requirements. The process includes home visits and long brainstorming and design sessions till the final product is created.
Started by Garima Agarwal in 2005 the store is located in Chennai and has about 800 clients in India and abroad.

The first thought to cross my mind when I walked in was, 'Wish I were a kid!' and then the, 'Wish I had lots of money' thought crossed later. This place is full of pretty things - the cozy, warm comfort envelops you as you enter. Soothing colours, kid bean chairs, pretty cushions that smile at you in the shape of a flower, fish, apple, etc... giraffes, cows, rabbits and sheep walk across the curtains, easel with black board on one side and a marker board on the other side, comfy low cots, etc...and a pleasant store assistant (which I realise lately is a rare find).
They also take up orders for furniture and design kids rooms apart from selling these pretty things. You could send them a picture of the room and get design ideas or get them to visit you (they charge for this service - Rs.1000/- I was told). They apparently take up the design of the entire room - painting/ wall papers, furniture, furnishing, mats, rugs, etc etc...
It did seem a tad too expensive for my middle class sensibilities - a small butterfly board clip cost Rs.100/- and some long pretty cushions cost almost Rs.1500/-.
