A little haven for kids and moms in Indiranagar
It is refereshing to have a place for children to be creative, rather than play video games or watch another movie. It really allows the kids to be themselves in an open and beautifully done space. There are toys like slides and seesaws for little kids. The people are exceptionally warm.
For those of you who don't know about this place it is a quaint little cafe and art sudio on 6th main Indiranagar. It is warm, strangely homely and unusual all at the same time. Plants in the veranda, pottery on the wall, white walls, giving a sense of home in hills or something similar.
What you can do here is paint on clay. They have white clay they get from North India, that has been moulded and fired to about 700 degrees. This is called Bisk, the base to create ceramice ware. You can choose from these peices ranging from 180 to 600 rupees. For each bisk they let you choose 5 colors. I think they have 16 colors to choose from. I am not sure. These colors are specially created for painting on these bisks. They also set up a table with paper to draw on to practise before drawing on the bisk. (I highly recommend this for kids as they often start painting and change their mind and want to take more bnisk to paint on.) They provide you with water, briushes, pencils, stencils and books to help you paint. You can ask them for suggestions and I find thier service excellent. Always with a smile. There are some rules to follow, like not putting many too much color on the bisk etc. Do ask them and follow them. It makes a big difference. You can take as long as you want to paint.
Once you finish, they keep it for ten days to do the process of making it ceramic ware. They spray paint glaze, liquid glass on to it, and fire it to 1000 plus degrees. So when you collect it, it is glossy and bright. You can wash it and eat from it. It is dishwasher and microwave safe!!
Well the best part is, they have really good kid freindly food that I love too. So you have no cranky kids on hand. It is the perfect mom time. You can sit under the canopy outside sip on your cappucino, eat a roadside rowdy chicken sandwich, my favorite, and read a book. Bliss!
The service in the Bistro can vary. Sometimes the new people take time and I often ask for my regular guys back.
The food though has been realy good all along. The kids have the chicken pasta and spicy chicken burger. Oreo milk shake. Standard fare for them.
Ofcourse our house has many an art work from here now. We gift many. I love it for my kids and me.

Excellent hang out place for kids above 5 years and adults too; good food to keep us going. A better alternate to Doodle den in Bangalore.

When we moved to India, Lydia and I were worried about our children, Zack and Tamara. They were not keen on moving. Claytopia helped them a great deal in settling in. It was an activity they had done before and Claytopia has a great sense of style. It often feels like we are on vacation. We had Zack's birthday there and i think it was the clincher. All his freinds "loved" him after that.
It is a great place. We love the food there now as well. The Bistro they have opened is our new haunt. They actually showed us the kitchen. impressive! The prices are extremely reasonable as well.
Great job!!
