| i think i m not the only person who struggling in bangalore for my kid. but even there r many more parents who r in same position as that of mine. we have just shifted to bangalore and schools here r at terriable with kids. teachers r only for teaching and no help can be expected whatever the reason is.even my kid is hyper and speech is delayed. my kid if given proper attention does wonders. but teachers hardly cares for him. even if show them the way they don't want to follow them. so no way out. this session has to be continued mean while start searching for schools around u how r caring and sensitive to ur child. i have started looking for schools around me for the next session.plz look for small schools not big ones if not our special kids will get lost in the crowd. |

even my son has the same prob as urs. for speech therapy we r going for dr.namarita at j.p nagar. very good lady and she understands kids better. u will feel relax once u meet her. there is a behaviour therapist also. who comes in the same place. i m giving u the no of namarita plz take an appointment(9880069112). u can give my refference as aditya's mother kiran. she can guide u properly what u really have to do. and even there is a homeo dr who takes care of this issue. dr.deepak is a very good dr he sees all illness but even takes care of this but even here appointment has to be taken and plz tell the issue while taking the appointment.that will save ur time. dr.deepak's no is(9845016756). hope i have guided u properly.plz consult them as soon as possible. |

Thanks again for the response..Do u have contact number of Dr Ashok..If yes,pls giv it to me..I wud like 2 contact him...
I have given him OT and speech therapy..but that hardly made any difference..I took him last month to a v senior peadetrician,who said he looks hyperactive...but told me to wait for a year before starting medicines...I have no clue..Looks like Iam sinking!!
He has speech delay..He is hyperactive too..difficulty in mixing with kids...I really wonder if he wil ever improve!!Thanks for all the help...In google always there is more information than u need..but I should be knowing If Iam tracking the right St Johns ..Isnt it?Thats y I requested u 2 help me...Thanks anyways! |

| neethi, did you give any early intervention to your child, there are strategies to improve attention, sitting tolerance, these are called as pre learning skills, first these have to be in the child before you put him/her in school in a regular set up, it is very important to get those, I would recommend comdeall, my son goes there. The easy way to search on where st johns, prajma and comdeall are is in google, you are aware of web searching right. Anyway kormangala is where st johns hospital is, dr ashok is developmental aped I believe, also evaluation is the first step, based on the recommendation follow with therapies, don't loose heart that your child is already 6 year old start now. |

Thanks so much for the prompt reply..Where is St johns hospital in Bangalore?Is Dr Ashok a child psychaitrist??Whats his full name?
Also tell me where is prajma in Bangalore?I keep talking to the teachers abt my child..on which areas he needs help,guidance etc...My child is high on energy plus attention span is less.....He will only do things which interest him....So while other kids are sitting at a place for long,following instructions,writing..my child seems to be out of sync....
Kindly guide me on the above queries...Heard abt Dr Ashok on parentree earlier..Seems like he is a good doc going by the reviews...But again God knows If i book an appointment now,after how many mths will I be really meeting him!!When the doctor is convincing n good,the entire crowd is there!!I will be waiting for ur reply..Thanks a lot... |

Neethi,
A understanding school is a must. Yes nimhans is really crowded you can try st johns ask for dr ashok he is great, also can go to prajma is second optios they are also good in diagnostics services. Which school does your child go to, where do you stay. You will have to constantly talk to the principal and teachers about your child, it is really important, if the school is not helpful, better change, according to rte the act is strong no special needs child can be denied admission, you should also opt for special educator who can come home and give additional support for your child. Sensitive the teachers and principal, also the fellow student about child problem be the advocate for your child and keep fighting. |

Hi space and time,
Nimhans I suppose is always crowded..How is St Johns in terms of diagnosis?If its ok,can u pls guide me whom to meet there..n also pls tell me where is this hospital in Bangalore...
My child 6 plus is a speech delayed kid..going to mainstream now..but I see his eyes crying for help...Teachers dont understand the plight of such kids...and in turn this becomes traumatic for both parents n the kid...I want to get a detailed report as of now....pls guide me.. |

| You will really have to start early intervention, please go to st johns or nimhans to get a evaluation done to see what is the DX, once you have the diagnosis then start treatment. See hyperactivity can be because of ADHD or autism or SPD, you said language issues too. There are lot of therapy options available in bangalore. A good inclusive school with sensitive teachers is a must try possibilitiesunlimited website for inclusive schools in bangalore near your place. |
