Things to do with kids in Delhi

  • India Gate
    • At night, even in summers is cool
    • Vast green lawns for kids to run about
    • Ice-cream, balloons and toy hawkers
    •  “The India Gate” monument—go check it out and get a patriotic “zing"
  • IMAX 3D movie theater
    • Amazing 3D Imax format movies like the one on T-Rex dinosaurs, etc

  •  India Habitat Center
    • Eatopia—the food court has video games as well
    • There is a good play area for little kids
    • Adults can hang around and “take in” the cultural stuff

  • Fun and Food Village
    • Water rides

  • Color Factory
    • Clay painting. You select clay objects like cups, soap-case, small figures etc. and paint them. They glaze it and give it around a week later.
    • Expensive (Rs 250 onwards). But good creative fun for kids

  •  Lovely gardens and picnics (especially in winters)
    • Lodhi gardens (lovely ruins also. Kids enjoy playing hide and seek)
    • Nehru Park
  • Garden of five senses (near Mehruali dev. area)
    • Solar car/train and other interesting rides
    • Elephant/Camel rides
    • Lovely gardens, eco friendly, trees, interesting stuff made with "garbase". Aesthetic for adults. Nature heaven for walks
  • Funky Orbit 
    • A fun indoor jungle gym for kids to play
    • Ansals Plaza (Mall)
  • Essex Farm (near IIT Gate)
    • Video arcade
  • Delhi Zoo (Sundernagar, near the old fort)
    • Well maintained and lots of animals. Tips (go early before the crowds).
  • Rail museum
    • Ride in a cute toy train (miniature real steam train). Inexpensive and fun. An interesting museum of old trains (from the British times etc.)
  • National Museum of Natural History
    • Ficci building, Barakhamba road
  • National Museum. Older kids might enjoy
  • Dolls Museum
    • Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg—where the newspaper offices are
    • Dolls from all over the world
  • Bal Bhavan
    • Rides and activities for children
    • Not very well maintained though
  • Nehru Planetarium
    • Teen Murti Bhavan, Teen Murti Marg
  • Amoeba in MGF Mall in Gurgaon
    • Video games and other games
    • Good for older kids also
  • Fun City in Ambience or Ambi Mall, Gurgaon

    • Qutab Minar (kids love)
