Topics Abound only on Schools

Jun 25, 2012 1:49 PM Share

Going thru yards and yards of discussion topics ONLY on schools in parentree- many of the questions repeated, pertaining to the same schools. Why don't people use the search function in parentree to see if their question has already been asked before?

Missing the parentree of 2 years ago when the range of topics discussed was so varied- about books, kids learning, craft ideas, recipes even. Some really talented people with such original refreshing ideas. Where are they? I really miss that- the intellectual stimulation thru the discussions, back & forth was something I would look forward to. Now it should be called SCHOOL-tree. Sad.

Ya... if only this was a phase, roshmom. It goes on ALL through the year. Parents do not want to seem to DO anything with their kids at home any more... thinking that taking 1000s of opinions or reviews about any school will make them better equipped to assess a school and then "life's made for the next 12 years"! What they don't realise is that the person who will influence the child most is the teacher and they have absolutely NO control over that. There are good teachers in a "bad" school & vice versa.
I too keep going back to older threads... especially enjoyed the one on books.

Hey aanchal how are you? Aren't u "ask Aanchal":) Good to see u, using your expertise to help other parents.

Hey mikukiku thanks for your comment.

Hi Itawer, I'm doing great. How are you? As Aanchal said, I too miss the posts from old timers Roses, Apar_sai, Sumo,PD, mango_mama. From time to time I go back to the older topics for reference :-) Since it's the admission/ school reopening time, there is always anxiety among parents. I think this phase will also pass.
