Dear Parents,
We are shifting to Pune from Mumbai in June first week. We plan to settle down in Baner/Aundh area though I am given to understand that Pashan-Sus area too is a good option to consider. I have been doing searches on good CBSE and ICSE schools in these 3 areas. Orhid, Vidya Valley, DAV spring up as options. Loyola is very good but it offers SSC. My children (daughter-8 yrs and son-5 yrs) presently study in ICSE school in Mumbai but we are seriously considering to switch them to CBSE because my daughter is finding it difficult to cope up with the study portions. Could you kindly recommend the best options to consider?

Please dont consider DAV or Vidya Valley or Gurukul (Ashok Nagar). The best school is Kendriya Vidyalaya near Boys Batallion, they will have some seats for regular civilians. Consider that school over others.

Also the state board is also a good option as the syllabus is closer to CBSE (much more so than previously thought).

ICSE wont help from teh perspective of professional education entrance exams like JEE or BITSAT or AIEEE or AIPMT. CBSE will certainly help. The ICSE will help only if you are considering graduation abroad rather than India.

Loyala is a good and well reputed school. Though presently offering SSC, I have heard that they plan to gradually switch to CBSE.

Thank you very much for your suggestions Mr. Khanna. I was considering Loyolas as well.

Thank you very much for your suggestions. I was under the impression that kendriya vidyalaya is only meant for Central Govt employees. I shall definitely scout around for the same. Thanks once again.
