Hi all,

In Moggapair DAV, the application forms for LKG is issued on 3rd and 4th Dec 2010 bet 9AM to 1PM. Am pretty sure it will be the same the case with Gopalpuram DAV as well. Kids born between 1st Dec 2006 and 1st Dec 2007(both dates inclusive) are eligible and the cost of application form is Rs 150. Kindly request you all to share any info you get abt the admission process in this website so that many will get benefited.

When you fill in the application form, you need to provide information on “address in full with salient landmark close to the residence. The parent is required to furnish information regarding proof of present residential address by producing a Photostat copy of Election Identity Card/Passport/Ration Card or Driving License”.

Hope this helps.

Hi Shenu,

Dont worry as your kid is too young for LKG this year. Relax till 2011 december. This is our turn to suffer i.e being a parent of a kid born in 2007 :)

For all the parents whose kid will be 3.5yrs by 2011 June, pls update yourself

Thanks Pragnya,

I have all the mentioned address proof, but i am staying in Kodambakkam, so for DAV the residence is the first filter criterio that i have heard from my frineds circle, so it will be 5KMS radius, is it so?

thanks,

Vela

Hi Dudes,

My child's d.o.b is 14-12-2007,  will DAV provide me LKG application, if i give a try by standing in the queue or any feedback or prior experience of getting neglected in the queue, bcoz of the 14 days lacking to complete 3.6yrs on June 2011..

Kindly share your experiences and do let me know whether any high recommendations will help?

Appreciate your replies…

Hi Suhasini,

Dont worry, Bcaz they frame the age by month only not by date, so if the child born in december or before will be eligible for next year LKG.

Suha,

your point is correct, but when i enquired with my friends they told with in that month is eligible for that selection not by date, and also all the schools are fixing the age as 3.5 but why DAV alone have put as 3.6 yrsa, its another filter.

anyway you go and get the application form lets god decides our children's admission.

Vela.

Hello my dear Good Indian,

please find the details below as i collected from my friends circle, i am not sure these are the mandatory rules,

1. Residance proof with thier school offce boy verification as your mentioned premises and around.
2. Parents qualification and occupation
3. If mother is a housewife then u'll get good score.
4. Kid's performance and interaction at the time of counselling
5. Cross question with our kid to prove mother as HW or working mummy to avoid the confusions.

for Ist std its aorund feb-march 2011 and u have to get the other details on notice board.

since LKG is the entry level they follow all the procedure for all uniformly, but when u go beyaond that the vacants are very very less, even if they find then high recommandation will play.

Hi Vela,

Does DAV Gopalapuram give preference to h/w? I heard the otherway around..they look for parents to be graduate and working.

Hi Raghu,

Parents should be a graduate and mother sholud be a house wife is preferrable one.

i heard this from my friends whose kids are studying in Mogapair DAV.

Hi Vela,

It was announced last year DAV Gopalapuram application issue process should be handled more smoothly going forward. Unlike in the past, application issue date will be on two days (Dec 3rd and 4th). I see this as good sign and expecting queue to be short and more application issue counters to be open.

Moreover, I do not see a point why DAV Gopalapuram should issue limited applications (~300) as it can mint money in the form of application fee (Rs. 150) for the cost of less than Rs. 25 (including application printing cost and overtime pay for staff).

I guess the main criteria are as following:

1. Age limit for LKG admission 3 years 6 months as of June 1st 2011.

2. Commute to school should be less that 5km

Note: 1 and 2 are necessary but not a sufficient conditions. Original proof of residence and birth certifications should be shown at the time of submitting the applications. These will be returned immediately after verifying.

3. Siblings get the first priority, if item 1 is met (2 is given).

4. If a parent attended DAV under the same management for either X and XII, you need to submit the mark sheet to get preference.

5. Also, Child of government employees gets preference if they meet 1 and 2.

6. Both parents must be post graduates -- irrespective of both parents working or not, I am not 100% sure of this (source: from other forum members).

Hope this helps.

Clarification on item 1, age limit should be between 3 years 6 months and not to exceed 4 year 6 months for child seeking LKG admission (as of June 1st 2011).

If I missed anything, please feel free add to list by replying to the post.
