hi everyone!
In earlier years, Kumarans used to hold an admission test/exam for 1st std admissions, which was held in January. But as of this year they have mentioned that there will be no assessment for 1st std. According to the earlier procedure, list of children selected for assessment would be put up on 5th December, and test would be held end of Jan.
Now that there is no assessment for 1st std, it is not clear if a shortlist of some kind will be put up on Dec 5th, and also what would be the procedure followed for admission. Not able to get through their landline number at all for asking them, and though they are very polite if you go talk to them in person, it is a bit of a journey to go all the way to their campus just to ask a question.
If anyone can throw light on their process for this year, I would be very grateful :).

Same here. I have applied for I Std for my daughter too, but am yet to get any communication from them. I too am not sure about the admission procedure this year.
My daughter made it to Appollo National, but I and my wife decided to wait for other results before admitting her to any school.

We just got an sms calling us for an interview for 1st std admission next week. Anyone else has attended the interview? Pls share your experience.

Correction to my previous post - our interview is next week too. Due to waiting for the results on Sunday, I felt like it was still Sunday when i posted ;).
janshon - the yearly fees is in the range of 60K. Along with admission fees it was close to 1 lakh last year, so this year would be 10% or so more than that i guess. It increased a lot about 1+ years back when they moved to the new campus, but the new campus is really great.

I remember seeing their selection list last year which had in the range of 40-50 names. No idea about this year though. Hopefully since they have lots of classrooms in the new campus they might take more :).

I tried checking the status online for my application form as informed by the school, but the status field is errored out.
Are you guys who got the call able to see the status field?

Yes, the status field said "Interview"(where it was "accepted" earlier) and keeping the mouse over it gave the timings of the interview below.
The SMS also mentioned selected for interview.

Don't have any clear idea.
Have heard that they are strict about the age of 6 years as on Jun 1st but nothing known otherwise.

We did not receive an interview call, so I was trying to figure out the reason. I was told by the school that we would not be able to submit the form if the child's age did not meet their criteria. So it must be something else. Are they particular about the income / community / distance ? How far do you stay from the school ?

Cinderella - I am sorry to hear about that. Did you have any other schools you were considering for your child. I have been so tense waiting for this result, as I am waiting to know one way or the other about Kumarans before trying anything else.
I stay in BTM Layout - it's about 15 km from the new school campus, but I have seen their bus/van in my area.

When did you upload your form? Maybe, they are calling people in waves. The first call seems to be for all those who have the appointment next week. Don't lose hope yet.

The status field of our online application says "NOT ACCEPTED", so I guess there is no chance of getting a call.

Might not be the age criterion. My daughter will be 5 years 10 months on June 1 2011. We have been asked to meet the principal of CBSE.
Our ICSE application has been rejected. Has anyone got calls for both the streams?

My daughter is currently studying in an ICSE school and we wanted to move her to CBSE. So we had submitted her application for CBSE in Kumaran's. Not sure if that's the reason her application was rejected. Is your child currently in an ICSE or CBSE school ?

Hi All,
Even our students applications was not accepted, We stay in HSR layout, way far for Kumarans. Distance may be one of the criterias for Kumarans.

My daughter is in a Montessori now. She will be interviewed for I Std.
I had applied for both ICSE and CBSE, and she has been shortlisted for CBSE. Her ICSE application has been rejected. Similarly, a friend of mine has a son who has been shortlisted for ICSE, and not for CBSE.
I wanted to know whether they decide on where to shortlist, and whether the shortlist is only for one stream.

We had our interaction yesterday. It was not focussed on the child much except for What is your name kind of questions. More of talking to the parents and trying to understand how committed we are to wanting admission and related to working/non-working moms.

Thanks for your comments. I just came back from the interaction. And, I agree with you, except that they talked to my daughter a little more than what they did with others. She was asked questions like, how many barbie dolls do you have, what do you like more, numbers or language....
They indicated that we will get to know about the status by the end of this month. Hoping for the best.

I too just came back. We hardly had any interaction. We were 30 minutes early... got called as soon as we reached. My son had hiccoughs, so they offered water. He took the glass and drank. They just asked us if we belong to Bangalore and who looks after my son. The whole thing lasted some 90 seconds ! Another kid got asked what her name was and which school she goes to.

My daughter's status for CBSE says "Selected". I hope that means, she has secured a seat. No more details are furnished at present. I am eagerly waiting to see what I should do next.

Yes. Same here. Interestingly, only my wife got an SMS; not me. Now, the admission is confirmed. I am happy for the same. I checked the pupilpod login today morning, and it contained more information on the process.
