Hi

I want to know how ramaiah is doing  recently!  I heard that lecturers have been changed.  Can we still expect same type of coaching which is there previously?  I request any parent who's child already took coaching and entered IIT to give me their valuable feed back.   We were in chennai and seriously planning to join my son who is in 9th std. in ramaiah.

thank you

Hi Sesi,

Ramaih is definitely good. But there are more institutes now which are better than Ramiah like Narayana, SriChaitanya and FIITJEE. However there was one rank from Ramaiah institute this year in top 10. Most of them have gone to Narayana. My daughter has come to X this year. I have joined her in FIITJEE last year for the ASCENT two year program. I have written in detail about FIITJEE and other institutes in the below link. You can read the views of  other members too. You can also get in touch with DomainKing  who has admitted his son in FIITJEE World School this year in class 8 and daughter in Inter 1st year (11th) in FIITJEE.  You can write to him through parentree inbox too. He must have done enough survey before joining his son in FIITJEE  School. I have mentioned in detail about IIT ranks in the below link .  Lot of info has been exchanged in page 2.

Hi Sesi,

I suggest it is better to understand the study pattern of your child before deciding on the institute.

From my understanding, if the child is good at mugging up and ready to follow every inch of what's taught and doesn't mind monotonous practice, Narayana and Chaitanya are the best bet. Moreso, it is best for students who need constant handholding

FITJEE works best for self learners, highly initiative taking and independent students.

Hope this helps..

helo mickey and shailaja

thank you very much for your replies.   My son already going to fiitjee from this year.  He is in 9th std.   FIITJEE in chennai couldn't get many ranks this year.   So we wanted to send him to hyderabad after his 10th.   My son is self learner.  He never depends on others.   And one more thing, my parents are living in nallakunta.  We heard there are many good coaching centers like ramaiah, delta, krishnamurty etc in nallakunta area.   I would like to know how those coaching centers are doing.

Ramaiah is very tough to enter as for 150 seats  more than 10,000 are giving exam.   But after joining ramaiah how is the coaching now-a-days?   If you have any idea pl. let me know.   We were only looking coaching centers in nallakunta area.

thank you

Hi Sesi,

As per the results in the last couple of years, Narayana is doing pretty good in terms of IIT and engineering entrances.

Again, in all the branches of Narayana offering IIT, Habsiguda branch is the best. They have two branches in Nallakunta too. As you still have 2 more years, i suggest you follow the results these two years and then decide. Admisssion is never denied in these colleges but scholarships in terms of discount in fee will be offered based on the marks obtained in his 10th class board exam.

As your target is IIT, get him into application based method of study than mere by heart and reproduce stuff. Otherwise, it would be difficulyt to crack the IIT entrance.Very soon, i will send u a lis of magazines to subscribe so that he can be on his own.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Shailaja

Hi Sesi,

If your child is able to get in Ramaiah, you can surely join him. Most of the children get a seat in IIT. If he doesn't get through, you can look at Krishnamurthy and Delta too. They are also good. You also have a choice of Narayana as told by Shailaja.

Hi Shailaja,

Where is your kid studying now ? My daughter is in FIITJEE's 2yr ASCENT program. She is right now in X.  I need to decide after her X about the institutes whether to continue her  in FIITJEE or opt for other institutes next year.  Can u  also  let me know the list of magazines which you have mentioned above ?

Rgds,
Mickey

helo sailaja

Thank you very much.   As you already know CBSE removed board exams for 10th std.  So in that case, how these coaching institutes will come to know real talent of the children as every child will do def. hard work to score very nicely.   Is there any talent exam conducted by other coaching centers also like how ramaiah conducts?

Can you give me all details regarding the entrance exam which is conducted by ramaiah?   Like how the papers in maths, physics and chemistry will be?  how tough they will be and how the child has to prepare especially when we are in chennai!  Ofcourse he is taking FIITJEE coaching but will it be enough to crack ramaiah exam?

Even though he couldn't get ramaiah, we will def. try other options like krishnamurty and delta.  But first we would like him to give a trial to ramaiah.   As i mentioned before,  he is self learners and more over he never byhearts any subject.   He will try to understand the concepts prior to the class and then learn in his own way.   So after seeing his ability to grasp the subjects we were seriously thinking of best coaching center to join him.

Thank you very much for your valuable guidance and i will wait for the list of the magazines which you mentioned.

helo micky

thank you very much.  Please keep updating me about your child where your daughter is joining, how that coaching center doing?   etc all details.

sesi

Hi Sesi,

I remember you mentioning about your parents live in Nallakunta. You will get a book of past papers of Ramaiah entrance exam in a book stalls in Nallakunta. Ask them to buy and send it to you. That will help you know the paper.

As far as Ramaiah's entrance is concerned, it covers Maths, Physics, Chemistry and the standard would be CBSE & ICSE syllabus and helps if your son can check little of grade 11 syllabus also.

Also, a month before the exam, coaching centres around Nallakunta offer crash courses to Ramaiah's entrance exam.

Will send you the list of magazines this weekend.

Apart from Ramaiah, others also conduct eligibility test but just for namesake. Even if one doesn't get through, they are assured of a seat. But Ramaiah's is not like that.

If your parents cannot locate the bookstore, please inform me, I can get it and post it to you.I could have done it myself but very recently i moved to Hitec city and it is very far.

hi shailaja

Thank you very much.  I will ask my dad to send the book of test papers to ramaiah exam.

Do you have any idea how ramaiah is doing this year?   Do you know any parents whose child is in ramaiah this year or previous year?   We heard that in ramaiah they beat the children and treat them as dogs abusing them all the time.   We are little scared by hearing this.   The previous teachers are like that it seems.  But they are no more in ramaiah.   Now new lecturers came it seems.   But how they are treating children we are not knowing.   If you can get info about how ramaiah's approach towards children pl. let me know.  Even though my son gets into ramaiah,  he should be happy at the end of the day.   If they harass kids , kid will get shattered.   Hope ramaiah is no more treating children like previously.

Which coaching institute you child is going?    As you said we will join my son in any crash coaching center to give ramaiah entrance after his 10th.

thank you once again

All is true about the treatment of kids at Ramaiah because end of the day they want the output from children. The procedures are rigorous. Students are given around 200 problems to solve each day in each subject and those who don't are punished.

My cousin went there and he faced the same. I have no idea about the new teachers there.

All this is apart from their regular intermediate which they have to study in another college. The classes at Ramaiah start at 4.30 or 5 in the morning.

I am a mother of 2 sons, elder one finished Inter 2nd yr from Narayana. His dream was to get into IIT but having studied abroad till his 10th( he has done the cambridge O'levels), he could not cope up with the Indian system of education. Now he is going to UK for his Bachelors in cyber forensics.

Having seen the stress the elder one went through, I have decided to home tutor my younger one who also completed his cambridge IGCSEs. He would be doing his A levels( equal to our class 12) privately.

I myself can guide children in all the science subjects till class 12 and have worked abroad for 7 yrs as HOD for Computer Science and English.

Ramiah institute is well past its prime. The IIT JEE pattern has changed quite a bit and Ramiah institute has not adapted to it. Mr. Koteshwara Rao, who was teaching Maths passed away and they had to struggle for a substitute. Mr. Giridhar who teaches Maths now is adequate. But the problem is with the management. Mr. Madhusudan Rao, who manages it now is a whimsical person with a very strong ego. He handles chemistry in which he is supposed to be good. But he does not have a disciplined approach. On certain days he takes classes for hours and on certain other days he cancels the class. This year he could not even complete the syllabus properly. No wonder results this year are abysmal. On top of that he puts unreasonable restrictions on studentswhich totally destroys their personality and self-esteem. I would not advise any one to go any where near Ramiah.

I agree totally with Shailaja's views:

"From my understanding, if the child is good at mugging up and ready to follow every inch of what's taught and doesn't mind monotonous practice, Narayana and Chaitanya are the best bet. Moreso, it is best for students who need constant handholding

Ramaiah is doing good, he got 123 selections out of 150 this year in jee.

TO join any institute you need desire to reach your goal.

If the boy mugs for 2 years nothing will happen, if enters into a good eng college, it makes change in his career and life,

So, I prefer just forgot 2 years and concentrate on the studies and achieve the best rank
