Friends

National Public School at Gopalapuram is also THE BEST school.

Please refer Education world magazine survey. As it's located at Gopalapuram, we are carried away with the discussion of DAV, Gopalapuram.

S DAMINI, u r right, that is true.,

i struggled for couple of years b4 i could settle my son in maharishi., ( hell of experience.,!)  but we can say all schools are equally good only it is our mentality but it is not the case, certainly we can differentiate their approach, the atmosphere.,etc..

hi damini,

my son is in II std this year., last year , we put him mahrishi., they concetrate both on academics as well as extra curricular activities which is of our interest they pracitce within school hour., so it is easy for us., at later stages, they give extensive training., also, they practice yoga from 4th std i think as a part of their regular curriculum.,

they are also very cardial and treat the parents with respect.,

Hi all,

My kid is in A School, Velachery. Its a new school, by Chettinad foundation , started this year at 5 places - velachery, Ashok nagar, thiruvanmayur, anna nagar and alwarpet.

Because of its association with Chettinad, we have high hopes from it. Apart from the initial hiccups, the school is functioning well and we have positive remarks abt it. Currently they take kids between 2 to 5 yrs. They r planning ot start 1st std from next year. their teaching methods are good. also they make it a point to update whatever activities they have had on a weekly basis on the internet.

We also have DAV school at Velachery and Adambakkam. I am not too sure of these schools. It wud b good, if somebody can comment on that too.

Hi Meera,

It would be of great help if you provide me the admission procedure in Maharishi. Right now i am staying in Mogappair and planning to move nearby maharishi if i get admission for my daughter.Hope you know very well about the initial process of admission, so suggest me that can i use my relatives address who is in kilpauk to fill in the admission form. Also let me know what level of recommendations they will accept. Recommendation is the second option for me if i didnt get admission for my daughter.

Thanks in advance

Hi Meera,

I am looking for LKG admission.

Let me know how difficult/easy to get the application form. Whether there would be any long queue from last night onwards to get the application and how much donation they will expect?

Also let me know the details which i have requested in my previous post.

Thanks

Anand

HELLO

I PUT my son only in Istd as my sister in law works in maharishi, hosur., it was through her persuasion we got it., so, i really  don't know about the process in LKG.,  i heard that they are requesting for donation of a higher amount but it is only word of mouth.,

Hi Rohini, Your kid must be feb-mar 2008 born so you can try during academic year 2011-12 for PreKG.

You may put your kid before that in some good neighbourhood play school. School like "A School" accepts admission from play group as well. Most of the other schools are having classes from PreKG or LKG.

Most of the schools start admission process November onwards which goes upto January with many other schools if CBSE board and with ICSE it usually starts with January. So start looking for from Nov 2010....

KV IIT and KV CLRI (both in Adyar) are among the best KVs not just in chennai but nationally.

Thanks Shree.

Do they have prekg. what is the starting age in this school(2.5 , 3.5 ?)

In lower classes do they have montessori method or traditional or mix of both

how much percentage is reserved for students not of government/central government parents

Are they relegious oriented like christian, hindu(ie whether they force children to say prayers or shokas during assembly) or neutral

Thanks a lot.

All the KVs nationwide have classes from 1st to 12th standard. The number of seats would be very limited for outsiders; anywhere between 2-5 only. The rush would be too much for that.

They are not at all any religion oriented.

I would highly appreciate if anyone can give a feedback on Chennai Public School, Anna Nagar West. As it started only last year, I have not seen much discussions pertaining to the same.
