So far i know is that this is ICSE board. It'll be the very first batch for the Std 1. So i don't think you can get any feedback on this, as noone has experienced yet.

I had got admission for my son in Blue Ridge for I std. I'am from Bangalore. I had a talk with the Principal of Primary section and was impressed. As Abinash points out rightly that getting a feedback of this school is very difficult.

All the best for your school search.

My daughter studies there in Standard 1st and i really like the school. My kid loves to go to school everyday.

Infrastructure:Very good

Teacher student ratio:Very good

The principal is very simple and approachable. The teaching pattern is fully project based .They have lots of fun activities eg they get a BIG Snakes and Ladder and children play that in school to learn counting, they are shown movies, they have a kite flying day, they had a wonderful annual day. They have regular ongoing competitions in school for story telling, recitation, drawing and many more which will improve the social skills of the child.

Currently for sports they have skating but soon their soccer and tennis ground will be ready.

There are no exams till std 2nd and regular evaluation is done in school for a child based on the below parameters:1.Discipline 2.Cleanliness 3.Regularity 4.Academics 5.Participation etc

The school has good potential except that principal is known to be a bit harsh with the parents often. They have good infra but can improve on communication.

Hi Sonalibala,

We are looking for school like WWS, Blue-Ridge etc for our daughter for sr kg.

I read your review about WWS school at wakad.Your child was in 1st STD there and you seem to be unhappy about the academics stress there?

Can you please let us know about it in details?Do they give lots of homework and pressuries to complete it?Can you please tell us about overview of syallabus there?

Your reply would be very helpful since getting reviews for primary section onwards is not possible since its a very new school.

Thanks in advance,

Srinivas P

 Hi Sonalibala,

I appreciate you taking the time to put your review on Blue Ridge.  It is really hard to find any reviews online about the school.  Your daughter must be in 3rd grade now, right?

My son is currently studying in the 2nd grade in Mumbai.  We are moving to Pune in the summer.  The school is close to our residence and I liked the cleanliness and look and feel of the school.  I have not yet had an opportunity to meet the principal in person.

Just wanted to check, if you still feel positive about Blue Ridge.

Regards

Arisia

Could you please share what type of subscritpions does the school ask parents to purchase?  If not Blue Ridge, which other schools are you considering for admission?

Have you checked out Indira National School (CBSE)?

The Euro school at Wakad will begin in the 2013 - 14 academic year.  While, their flagship school in Airoli has credibility, their Wakad branch will take time to establish itself.

I also checked out Vidya Valley (ICSE).  Good Infrastructure.  The school has got good results in the 10 grade exams too.  However, the approach raod to the school is horrible.. (I should not even be calling it a road... maybe kaccha raasta.. is more like it).  They also, do not give admission to students who do not live in areas that are not covered by their bus route. As they do not allow parents to drop and pick up the child from the school.

They gave out the forms to residents of the Blue Ridge Township and students who have siblings already studying in the school on the 12th of December.

For everyone else, admission form sale will be on 19th January 2013. It will be for 2 days between 9.00 am to 2.00 pm in the school premises.

There is a refundable deposit of 25000 (one time).  And then, I think the fees are about 35000.. (approx).  Not sure about the transport cost.  I am new to Pune, but  it seems most schools charge based on where the student resides.

 Manishkumar123,

Thank you for suggesting Euroschool.  I visited their office and also looked through their books.  I am impressed with their proposed method of teaching.  It is a really new set up,  and that is a risk.  but I would think it is a risk worth taking esp if we are seeking admission for the lower classes.

Hi,

Even my daughter goes to Blue Ridge,I do not find the school worth of continuing.

Teachers are really not efficient,Principal has lot of attitude.Someone has said it correctly that there is no choice for the parents working in Hinjewadi so they are putting their kids in BRPS.

Hello Nilesh

Please let us know which one you're finalising and which grade you taking admission. How about wisdom world or Indira kids, is it there in your list or any other options for Wakad.

Hello Arisia85

Please also let us know which one you're finalising and which grade you taking admission. Distance is one more factor I'm considering from Wakad and one of the reason to put Vidya valley at the bottom of the list.

@ Newbee - I agree with you.  Blue Ridge School does not have a good website.  I met up with the principal and I too got the feeling that she may be a little old fashioned (especially when it comes to introducing new concepts of teaching and driving the change among the teachers), and may not be open to feedback.

Of course, she was couteous and responded to all my questions.  (Although, it may not have been the response I was hoping for ;)  )

@ Vicky80 - I currently live in Mumbai and maybe relocating to Pune in the summer.  Since my relocation plans itself is not 100% finalized, I have not closed in on the school.  But, I am leaning towards Euroschool.  I like it the most among all the schools I visited / reviewd.  And even though it is new, I am okay with riding out the initial hiccups.   I am looking for admission in the 3rd grade.  Will keep this thread posted.

Hi Folks

I am logging in after a long time.My daughter is in Blue Ridge for the past 3 yrs (1,2,and now in 3rd).I think i can now comment about all the aspects of the school and you can decide:

1.School is very good in infra, food provided is hygenic, teacher to children ratio is healthy.

2.The school goes slow about covering the syllabus and hence no pressure on the kids. The teachers are OK as far as acedemics are concerned (not too good neither bad) which is the case in most of the new school nowadays. They do not have the best of the language skills if you expect it that way.Having said that teachers are really nice and sweet and children enjoy going to school.Teachers are available on phone as well with prior appointment.Parents need to be geared to pick up their ward's studies in the later standards like post 6th.

3.The school believes in learning as a process and is seen in  day to day curriculum. They encourage competitive exams though they dont prepare for those. They encourage sports (have basket ball/football/roll ball/skating) as a part of curriculum.

4.School gives correct prominence to leadership skills and creativity rather than rote learning. They develop it using various internal competitions/programs.They really bring out the best in your child from all round development. The music/dance/skits for grades above 5th are 95% composed/choreographed by kids themselves and very theme based.

5.The principal madam may appear rude, she is NOT.She is very open as you go further with the school. She is open to new ideas (not sure how she reacts if parents complain for a particular thing) but generally she is open to Innovative ideas is what i found.

6.School just imbibes the basic discipline in child and do not expect a convent version of discipline here.It believes in giving more space for kids and parents which may or may not suit everyone.

So to sum it all,i am happy with the school and its for parent to know your child and go in for a school which will make your child bloom.

Some one said this '.The school goes slow about covering the syllabus and hence no pressure on the kids.'

My daughter is in the school for last 2 years, what I have realized is the school is actually not covring the relevant syllabus .

In 1st standard if school is covering the things expected to be covered in Sr.KG and then calling it 'Putting less pressure on kids".....I dont understand it.

For me keeping a child up to mark and competative with a healthy teaching approach is all about stressless education.

Personally I am finding my daughter get 1 year late in her studies .

 Hi arisia85,

I have put my daughter in Vidya Valley and I had the same conceptions earlier about hte road etc but beleive me the roads doesnt become a pain at all and Vidya Valley's bus transportation system is one of the best with a fleet of more than 22 buses. We stay in Pimpale saudagar and still I see the bus coming almost at the same time as Indira National just with a 5-7min gap and both schools get over at 2.30. This school is a best choice for those who can forsee future. And also a best choice for parents who really want their kids to be all rounder. It has a very good mgmt and each and everything is done in a very planned way. You get twitter updates on your cellphones if the buses are moving out late for any reason like weather conditions etc. You really feel secure sending your kids to such schools.

 Hey Abby,

Yes, I liked Vidya Valley school too.   They have good 10th grade exam results to show.   And I have seen a lot of positive reviews for the school.  Unfortunately, they do not give admission, if the residence is not in their bus route :(    I am most probably moving to Hinjewadi.   They were not even okay, if I committed to have my child dropped and picked up everyday.  So that's the hitch.

Which grade is your child in? How many years have you been with the school?
