Hi
My daughter is been scheduled for interview at Arsha vidya mandir on Jan 23rd.
I would like to know about this school. How far is it good in academics, extra curricular activities, students to teachers ratio, communication or exposure, discipline etc.
What do they expect in the interview?
Is the fees nominal? how much will they expect donation and annual fees?
Kindly help me out at the earliest.

I also applied for Arsha Vidya mandir but yesterday i got an email (regret letter) saying that they are unable to provide admission to my kid for LKG admission. He will be 3.5 yrs old by June 2010. Got to keep hunting...
AFAIK, LKG will have 30 students. Fees is 35k annual + 15k refundable deposit. I dont think they expect any donation. I dont have much info on the discipline and extra-curricular activities per se. Let us know how the interview goes, mine is scheduled for 27th.

A peculiar and idiotic thing is "mother has to accompany and be in school campus during school hours".
Almost no extra curricular activities for students. School environment is not at all good. Students get more frustration due to high level of pressure....This is Arsha Vidya Mandir...

School expects mother to be around for the first few weeks until the child settles down. They want to make sure the child eases into school environment peacefully. Thats all. You are not expected to be there after some 5-6 weeks.
I am not sure about extra curricular.

My guess is that the interview dates for AVM are scheduled based on the distance parameter (people living close by first?) People who got interviews earlier to us - please confirm).
We are about 7 km away from the school, our appln number is <30 and we have the interview on 30th.
My application number is >100 and i'm within 8 km radius of the school.
My application number is 226 , but I stay below 6 KM. I havn't got any response yet.

I hv enq the AVM parents they said they dont carry books instead they have files ,they start writing from 1 std onwards.On every Monday's there will be a cycle test and no exams at all and promotions is based on the student's discipline etc..
Interviewed schedulled for my daugther is on 23rd Jan 3 pm..
I'm still confused ,Hw will the child practice their writing?
I found there is a big gap bw the teachers and the parents .Parents gets an id password where they login and get their wards remarks.
But without communicating to teachers how would we correct things???
Hi all,I called AVM now and got to know that our interview has been scheduled for 27th.They said that they have sent the mail on the 13th itself and I guess that it would have gone to the spam.Those who are yet to know the status can call the school and find out.

I called AVM they said there is no changes in the date and time only for few students there is a changes.
Hi Shethal,I too got the same kind of feedback from the parents whose kids go to AVM.In this academic year they have not had any PTA meet.Thety jack up the syllabus in the sixth std.
In my opinion, the interview for LKG admission is not one way and those of us who got invites, should discuss our concerns (like the No PTA meet, only internet based interaction with parents etc) with the principal of AVM. We also have equal rights to ask them questions.
Unfortunately, this forum is and will be dominated by parents who are looking for school admissions. We may get carried away by trivial issues posted by some of us and loose the big picture. The ones whose kids are already into these schools would have more insights into the functioning of schools and will be able to guide us better. If you have any such friends, please encourage them to write here.

I too attended the interview today along with my daughter Asmita. How did your discussion go. You have idea about how many has been called for the interview. The ambience and teaching methods of school seems to be very impressive. They have told that result will be communicated only by second week of Feb. Long wait till then.

I too attended the interview it was nice to hear that there are different from other cbse schoolthe way of teachingand all is ok.
No stress on writing .There is no old rhymes like baba..black sheep instead they hv a set of own rhymes created by themselves.They have a vedic class for students it was vvv nice to hear that they hv a culture .
Let's wait till 2 nd week of feb for the result .....

as shetal and arun said, we also felt the same, the way of their teaching methodology till ukg i.e pre-primary 2 is very nice and also for higher classes.
school environment is very clean and the way they approached my kid also was wonderful. they just let her play with the toys and puzzles and no interviews for kids and even for parents. their way of communication was very nice. teacher student ratio i.e 1:8 for pre primary is very appreciative.

Moreover you guys got adimission for your kid(s) with any other school's? bcos as u guys said the results will be out on mid of Feb. Actually my daughter is now going to 'A' School, velachery but i'm not satisfied much with the school. And also the school has not cbse recognized till now. So bit worried about it ..

They spoke reg their school academic procedures and the way they teach to the students.Common questions were asked and they made my daughter comfortable by playing some toys.They questionned us abt how we came to know the AVM school,What you know abt the AVM school,Whether my daughter had gone to any play school or not?
It was a 5 min interview only.They had not asked any questions to my daughter.
How was ur interview ?tell me what they asked u.

They do not own a van but they organise a private van .
they asked us also the same qns. but we told like 'to be frank we dont know much about arsha vidya mandir' after that they started explaining the school process
