If we look at the evolution of school education in India post Independence, we see a clear trend of including more and more content - overwhelmingly in the form of factual information - in the syllabus. Laboratories have declined, and even demonstrations, once common, are now confined to elite schools.

Is it not imperative to move to a new model of activity based education, in which science is not alien, but organically linked to children's experiences?

Don't our children need to be given opportunities to do things "hands-on"?

Hi arjun,

Which are those schools in chennai and bangalore? Do they charge extra fees? What kind of activities are offered?

Any idea of after school activities for Maths and Science like in USA?
