Sometimes, I feel very sad , will my child be OK....but then when I see him smiling...it fills me with energy to work harder for him.....

I feel low when other people around me dont understand him...they are so blunt!!!! and i get hurt...then I promise to myself I'll make my child a better person.......

Does any one know someone whose child has come out of autism...My Homeo Dr assures me he can bring my child out of it....but  still feel helpless at times.

Sharing my feelings!!! where else I can pour them out!!!

its the most difficult and painful situation to be in. his future adult life is what scares you so much. recently, i was approached by a company that claims to be doing something new and different in the field of autism. i personally dont know how they are, but you may want to check them out

mylilson,

Dont worry, He will become alright as he grows up. Your kid is still 3 only. A lot of children have these traits which disappear as they grow older. Read up on the net about treatments of Autism as much as you can. There are lot of parents who have recovered kids(i.e dont have enough symptoms of Autistic traits anymore). Some of the suggested treatments may work for you, some may not. Do a lot of research on your own and try out the methods suggested by the parents. It may work for you too. Couple of years earlier I had posted like you here as well.

 Hi,

I know how u feel.

Plz go thro this link

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tito_Mukhopadhyay

Till the age of 5 the early intervention period,no diagnosis of developmental delay stays with kids.So u have 2 more yrs to go and even later U R THE ONE WHO IS GOING TO MAKE UR SONS LIFE,BUILD CONFIDENCE.HE IS UR KID.

When u read the link above u will know the strength of mother.

Plz go right docs,right therapist.

Have u been to communication deall.Dr.Prathibha karanth ,I hav heard good things about her and she largely deals with autistic kids.

Become member for autistic kids forum, lot of mothers out thr are a great support and all the treatment aspects are discussed and u know what is right and wrong.

Yest my son cam back from school and asked me what is autism and aspergers,he is 9 yr old,one of his classmate told him yest he is one. This is the way kids are treated and felt one among them in a mainstream school in US.

i am not aware of how it is in India.

being a single parent of a child with autism can be very daunting.....but you can easily overcome it if you start maintaining a diary in which you can log his/her daily achievement. even if it is the smallest detail that he smiled at ur neighbour or he hand picked his biscuit and ate it independendty or he followed ur instruction.....this will act as your magic book.....and when ever you feel down you can just read it from page 1 and keep on reading until it pulls a smile on ur face.. also so write in ur experiences and the child"mischiefs...let me know if my suggestion helped.

Also try therapies like speech and occupational therapy

 where are you living ?

you can obtain support if u form a local support group, also u can get support here, and do u know where do all the kids diagnosed having autism go when they become adults?

most of them go to join work force, autism is not a deadly or doomed forever condition anymore, with help of newer treatment modalities and help more and more children hving autism are recovering, some of them totally cured an many recover up to 80-90% so that they can lead almost normal life, and who knows what future may bring, may be it bring some miraculous treatment options for our kids, my daughter has shown great improvement in just 8 months with combination of biomedical treatment and conventional therapies.

I know that it is very difficult to do it alone, but one day you will be proud that you did it single handedly and your son will be so proud of you.
