Hi,

I was recently moved from bengaluru to California, US for 1 year project and my kid has finished M2 level at Mantasary School(it is equivalent to LKG level). Now this year she is eligible for kindergarden here at California. So we are planning to join her here this year. But my doubt is that if she joins here this year and after one year when we come to bengaluru, she will be eligible for 1st std and at that time i don't know how she will manage, as now in the M2 level at mantasary they finished upto 3 letters reading and writing and in the M3 level they will start other words and they will teach how to write and read sentences and the kids are capable to write and read the sentences at the end of the session which will be helpfull for the kids when they join 1st standard.

Now for my kid when i join here this year kindergarden, i don't know about the education here and also about how it will be equivalent to UKG at bengaluru. I want ur advice in this. I don't know what to do. I want to take care of my kid's education and i don't want to make her feel difficult when she come back to bengaluru next year. Please tell me what will be the standard of the education here at US and also about my kid will face any difficulty when she joins 1st standard at bengaluru and what i have to do to make kid to feel easier when she joins the 1st std.

Thanks,

ChitraKonda.

Hi,

As far as language (english) is concerned you don't have to worry as they teach the kindergarteners to read and write (creative writing starts right from kindergarten).  Each child will be at different level of reading based on the child's ability. They also help your child to move forward in case if she is advanced,  In public schools, the main math will start from 1st grade. In kindergarten, not much of math concepts will be taught.  But the private schools have more of academics and extracurricular activities right from kindergarten. If you go for public school, you may have to put some extra effort at home to teach math.  But I don't think it will be diificult for your child to pick up once she comes back. Go for reputed school and there shouldn't be any problem. Good luck.
