Hi Shrunavee,

Congratulations !!! As far as exclusive womens/maternity hospitals ... I dont think there are any in Gachibowli ... Even Apollo is in Film Nagar, Jubilee Hills and is about 6 -7  Kms frm Gachibowli junction ... There is Rainbow Hospital in Banjara Hills & Femina Hospital in Jubilee Hills ... Rainbow hospital  has an Out Patient Clinic near Hitec City Opposite Shilparamam ... and the main branch in Banjara Hills ... The OP Clinic is only for consulations and no admissions ...

BTW .... I am in my ninth month of my second preg. now .... going for consulations to Rainbow OP clinic as it is near my office ... and will have to go to Banjara Hills branch for delivery ... We stay in Shaikpet near to Film Nagar ... WE have Apollo near by ... but not sure how the maternity services are ...

Have a Happy Pregnancy !!!

Regards,

Priya

Thanks Mickey :)

Yah i did hear about Dr.Prameela from Apollo from one of my cousisn ... seems to be a very nice doc ...

Dr.Pranathi in Rainbow is good but ypu can prefer her only if u have any complications with ur pregnancy ... the problem is she does not spend much time with normal cases ... and looks more into complicated cases ... So, if you need the doc to spend some time on every visit and patiently answer all ur queries ... then the best doc there is Dr.Shruthi ... very cool and patient enough to answer every silly doubt ... I have been goin to her since my 4th month and very happy with her ....

Hi Shrunavee,

Basically every hospital has both gud and bad reviews. Even top ones like Rainbow hospital also has both gud and bad reviews. So we cannot decide based on that ... And moreover, yes, Apollo is not so famous for maternity ... its more famous for the other things like heart, kidney etc .... and of course also for its expensive treatments :) :) ... of course so r the other corporate hospitals too ...

So its always best we go and check on it and get first hand information rather than just considering reviews ... Of course if u got the reviews frm ur close ones in the family or frends who hv already experiences ... then u will obviosuly hv a second thot ... Otherwise ... if it just frm the forum ... i suggest that since u r still in ur first trimester and if u r keen on goin to Apollo ... try it out once ... visit the best doc ther for ur next appnt. and check the kind of response u get ... Then decide based on how gud ur exp. at the hospital was ... I am sure you will be able to make up ur mind in ur first visit itself ... cosnider things like how easy/difficult it is to get appnts frm the doc ther .... how the doc responds to ur queries ... her patience level in answering ur queries especially if ur a first time mom-to-be ... the support staff ... the cost ... and everythng else ...

Hope that helps ...

Regards,

Priya

Hi ,

I am 8 months preg and I live in hitech city. I have been going to Rainbow hitech branch and seeing Dr.Shruti Reddy. She is good and very patient. This is my 2nd pregnancy so I am far more relaxed myself too.

During my 1st pregnancy, i went to matrika hospital in somajiguda. Though she is the sweetest doctor I have seen, but every time I visited her , she always told me i have some issue or the other- gestation diabeties , thyroid, uterus is very low in position, amniotic fluid is less etc etc. The whole ordeal was just so tough. I was admitted couple of times before my delivery in hospital and every time came out spending 20 k. Despite all this .. my baby was born 4 weeks before the due date and was very small and suffered acute infant jaundice. And again I was asked to stay in hospital for 10 days though i had a normal delivery. And my lil days old baby was on glucose for that many days with needles pricked inside him. Really a sad situation to be in.

This time i have none of the above health complains.. strange but true. In pregnancy situation, we dont have a choice but to just believe in what the doctors tells us. I am so glad you are checking reviews on net , wish I did that during my first time.

I would recommend Dr.Shriti in Rainbow but this branch is only for outpatients . Thats still fine, as the only tiome you need to go to Banjara hills is on the delivery day and dont worry you will have sufficient time to commute.

Good luck !

Please avoid Apollo hospital, we had a very bad expereince at Apollo and it seems its systemic problem rather than isolated one.

Some of the pointers that stand out from my perspective - never saw something similar in any reasonable hospital in Delhi

1. My wife during c-section was given general anethesia not local as its normal practice elsewhere. Anethestic when asked as to what is the need to give general anethesia - mentioned thats how we do it, its normal. Obviously we didn't push too much at that critical juncture when my wife was being pushed in the OT.

2. There was no decorum in the OT - all kind of people of roaming in and out.

3. The ICU - was like general ward, with so many people in. The cleaners laughing around and coughing/sneezing. Complaints to doc/nurses only drew shrugs.

4. Baby instantly moved to the room, typically till mother is mobile etc- baby is kept in nursery in case of C-section.

5. Nurse sent to give bath to baby - just took the baby to bathroom to give bath in cold water and had no training or any bath tub etc.  pathetic - the bath room condition was another topic.

6. Docs on the visit would causally ask the baby to be sent to their room - near crowded OPD for all injection etc. "Where does it happen"? Prompt response - its like only in Hyderabad.

7. When we checked in - we were strongly advised to take the c-section pacakge ie. some 75k - with 4 days post op care etc. but very surprisingly - the doc came in early morning  6-7 am of 3 rd day to check you out that you are no more required here. And obviosuly package meant you pay for full :-)

All in all - very shitty experience and very callous hospital !  I would not go to that hospital ever - its total different experience from Apollo Delhi. If I had time, I would have loved to sue them for the mental torture they gave us.

Regards

Vivek

Hi,

Congrats and All the best !!

I would recommend Dr Shruti Reddi in Rainbow. You can visit her in hitech for check up and later for delivery you can go to Banjara Hills.

I had lot of complications and inspite of that every time she gave me confidence and patient enough to explain properly
During delivery also the team over there treated the patient and handled the kid properly and carefully.

The delivery experience was so nice when compared to my prev delivery experiences. ( I delivered my elder one in fernandez)

Thanks

Joemom.

Firstly Congratulations and Best Wishes to all to-b-Mommies !!

I'm expecting my first kid in Aug 1st week and consulting Dr.Nuzhat Aziz from Fernandez. My sister ( who herself is a dermatologist ) also consulted the same doctor and had a baby in December2011. and our experience both with respect to gynaec and facilities at Fernandez (Hyderguda) branch was excellent.

Fernandez is also one of the very few hospitals in twin cities where epidural facility is available and they always encourage and prefer normal delivery to 'C' sec.

Btw she also comes for OP at their Jubliee Hills branch. You can check on that.

Just wanted to share our experience if it could help you in any way.

Cheers ~ Swetha.

Yes, Fernandez hospital is also among the top maternity hospitals. in Hyd ... an established one since a very long time in Koti and now has a new branch in Hyderguda ...and an OP clinic in J.Hills .... but it is a little away from Gachibowli ... If distance is not an issue ... that can be considered too ...

 hi guys,

i'm 6 moths preggo, and soon shifting 2 hyd. am curious to know regarding the same, Good docs n hosps around "Hi tech" . a far relative of mine has also suggested Rainbow , as she recently delivered her 2nd child thr. she had a C section, n says she almost spent 60k for the whole stay.

how eva am stil bit confused of how to go about with all this... plz help .

Hi Shatik ...

I didnt exactly understand as to what you are confused about. Is it about deciding the doc or soemthing else ? With the above reviews I think you will be able to get a fair idea of the nearby good docs ... These are as per our exp. ... not sure if there are any other docs near by ...

BTW ... There is one more gud doc a little farther away ... Dr. Jayanthi Reddy ... She owns a hospital near S.R.Nagar called J.J.Hospital ... Shez an excellent doc too ... I had my first baby there ... very supportive and patient enough ... supports natural birth ... but a little hard to get appointments ther with her ... Moreover its the distance that matters ... But its definetely nearer than Fernandez ...

And as for the cost ... that must have been some time back if it costed 60K for c-section ... becoz right now in Rainbow that wud be the package for normal and it is much higher for c-section. Of course that again depends on the type of room we choose ... deluxe ... luxury etc ...

So, relax, think and decide ... All the best ... If it is somthing else ur bothered abt and confused  ... let us know so we mite help .. .

Regards,

Priya

Hi Shrunavee ...

Thanks for ur wishes... But not yet ... Im playing the waiting game now ... :) ... I  have time till June 17th ... so 2 more weeks to go ... M waiting to make the annoucement now :)

Yes ... U need to take appt. so you dont need to wait long ... Of course even with appt. you can expect atleast 30 min of waiting ... but thts expected from docs ... Plan ur appts atleast 3 -4 days in advance so u can have a timing of ur choice ... else u will hv to take the remaining slots ... If u need to go for a scan ... plan it well in advance ... coz they do only upto around 20 scans a day and u have a longgg waiting list for them ... You can call on 64642020 for appts at the Madhapur Rainbow OP branch ... near Hitec city ... I think Dr.Shruti is available at Madhapur branch on Wednesdays & Saturdays.

All the best.

Priya

Hi Shrunavee,

Finally, the wait is over. Happy to announce the arrival of my baby boy on June 15. Was a normal del. and both of us are fine now, though the baby had jaundice initially.

hi priya

i have been reading ur reviews regarding ur second pregnancy in rainbow hosp.

i am 3months for my second one.i had a perfect normal del for my first one in vellore,TN.i have been in hyd for 6 yrs but have no idea about maternity stuff here.hey i was also in shaikpet n just shifted to manikonda.i had sub chorionic hematoma in 2nd month but thats not to worry now.i am right now consulting with Dr.Bethesda in manikonda.she has asked me to go for a NT scan which will check for abnormalities in baby on 3rd sep.this time i will not be going to vellore for delivery so thot of asking you about how your experience was with Dr.Shruthi in rainbow hosp and how much did it cost for you.it would be kind of you to give some positive support.i am just looking forward for a normal delivery this time also so looking for a right doc.kindly share your delivery exp with Dr.shruthi ..waiting for your reply.

Hi Shrunavee,

Thanku for the wishes ... I am sorry to know about ur problem ... Hope everything goes well with you too and have ur little one beside you very soon ...

Hi Anjii,

First, Congrats !!!

As for my exp. with the prenatal consulations with Dr.Shruthi, it was fine ... she explains anything that we ask ... best thing is shez very supportive and makes  us comfortable for the big day ... and does not recommend any unnecessary scans or any such just for the sake of it ... Also, I had my scans there with Dr.Chinmayee and she was very good too ...

However, my exp. at the hosp. was not tht great ... I somehow was not satisfied with the services there ... especially the financial help desk ... incorrect information ... delays in getting cashless insurance and hence delay in room allotment ... somehow we had some problems in that ... Moreover, my delivery was not done by Dr.Shruthi ... looks like each senior doc has a team of docs and nurses and normal pregnancies without any complications will be dealt with the other docs who are available round the clock ... in case of complications the senior doc will be present probably ... though i m not sure of this because i was admitted at midnite around 12.30 or so  ... but Dr.Shruti came there at tht time, checked the status of mine and another one too ... and left saying she wud come in any time in case of any complications and tht her team will be ther during labor ... so there were 2 other docs who did my delivery ... however she came in for rounds the next day to check on us ... i would say the docs are good but the hosp. services need to improve especially the speed of service ...

For the financial part ... it depends on insurance and normal package ... If it is insurance the room type depends on the sum assured ... fthey hv shared, general, private , luxury etc ... for my insurance cover of 2 laks sum assured ... it wud cost an amount of 28K for the normal delivery with twin share room ... It includes most of the charges except for some minor things ... apart frm the insurance amt granted it costed about 10K from our pocket ... If you do not have insurance, the total package is 60K for a normal delivery for a private room... It starts from around 45K for a general ward and goes upto to 80K for a luxury one ... and for C-section it starts from 75K or so and goes upto 1.3lacs ...

Wish you good luck with ur pregnancy and delivery ...

Regards.

Priya
