Hello All

I am an HR professional who after 2 years of having my son & 5+years of corporate HR exp. have quit for HR consultancy job so I can spend some more time with my super active 2year old.

I was in dual minds while taking the big decision, but eventually took the big leap considering personal health as well as quality time that I can spend with my son.

I have few things in mind & right now feel absolutely happy that I can get Eshaan ready & drop him to his creshe. Its so much fun seeing him do sweet silly things & to notice small itsy bitsy new words that he learns every day....Its amazing how much kids learn & understand to my surprise.

I have been talking a lot to Eshaan since day 1 you can say. & may be thats the reason he started talking quite sooner than kids his age. He is a super active baby as I always say, & his itsy bitsy talking just makes him so sweet & cute.

I have done one more thing when Eshaan was about 5 or 6months. Created an Gmail account for him.........& have been writing to him since then every now & then...telling him his little achievements, his tantrums, his growth, our memorable moments together. I try to write as often as possible, but no schedule. its as & when I feel & have something to write. Sometimes I have added pics or videos to the mail about what exactly he did. I hope he enjoys them when he grows up to read them.

I am Maharashtrian, with  a strong language base, so I believe Languages play important role in child development. With recent trends of teaching kids in English, like see that is crow, that is water.....oh,....  I am so much against it. I think kids should 1st understand & learn their mother tongue & then understand what it means in English. I will be putting him in an English medium school ofcourse for two impt reasons: My schooling is done in English so it would be easy for me to overlook his studies. Secondly he obviously has to stand strong in the competetive world which is dominated by English. (ofcourse there are exceptions but.......)

So what I try n teach him is this is "chiu"(in marathi) & it is called sparrow, or this is "hatti" & its called elephant (his fav animal)

Dear friends, I am looking forward to suggestions, comments on this post.

See you all soon,

Darshana

Hey.... i am also a HR consultant working for Search Firm, mom of 3 year boy.. super hyper one too.... i really  miss droppin nd pickin my son tooooo.. but nw he is so tuned tat if there is an even tat i get an oppurtunity to do so... he will definately cry thruout the school.. so i try nd avoid it now... jus so tat he enjoi's his time...

Regarding your way of teachin ur son ... this is absolutely right, at this age they can pick up atleast 22 languages .. so you can go easy on 1 by 1.. i hv nw started spkin to my son in Eng... I also interacted with him in Marathi, tats the language tat everyone spk's at home... But eventually he has picked up Hindi and gujrati also .... I m a punjabi married to Maharatrian....

You can also introduce him to coloring... they generally like it... let him scribble... He will learn to hold a pen and his fine motor skills will get developed.... Blocks .. single pc puzzles....

Enjoiiiii....
