hi all ,
been wondering is it advisable to enroll a 5-6 year old for art classes. my daughter loves drawing but i hold back on sending her to any drawing /art classes as i feel theat it would kill their imagination. Any thoughts on this?

It depends on the art teacher. Before you enroll, try to attend a trial lesson (if possible) and enquire how the teacher goes about teaching the children. If the teacher teaches only the techniques and makes the children choose their own subject to make or paint or draw, it will be wonderful experience for the kids. As you said if the teacher makes the children follow step by step activities then there's no point in sending them to any classes.
