My daughter is 2 1/2 yrs i am looking for nursery admissions in begumpet area

Joined the group yesterday...Seen ur query just now.

Chinmaya Vidyalaya is a very good CBSE school in Kundanbagh,Begumpet (Behind Lifestyle).They admit children in LKG who  are minimum  3.3 yrs by June. But i think admissions might have closed by now. You may as well join her in a nearby school in Nursery. There is a good pre-school at Bhramanwadi. Try to admit her in Chinmaya next year i.e Dec 2010 when the school gives the LKG forms.

Chinmaya Vidyalaya Begumpet follows CBSE curriculum and is very good right from first std The school has a good campus with a big play ground and a nice Shiva temple(Dhyaana Nilayam) too.The results are 100% in Tenth Std. They  have introduced 11th and 12th too for the past 2-3 yrs.Their academic record is excellent. l have seen children getting marks  in 90's in subjects like English,Social studies, Maths,Science and Sanskrit in 10th board exams. A few have scored full marks too in maths ,social studies and other subjects. You have to check for class 12 results. I have heard even that is good too.I read about one Chinmaya student's  review in Deccan Chronicle who got full marks in Maths in class 12 two yrs back. Six students from class XII last year from Science stream have got into IITs.

The school exemplifies Holistic education (value based and cultutal oriented). Chinmaya Vidyalaya teaches one sloka from Bhagwad Geeta daily and other slokas and have meditation.They teach good moral values  which is very much required these days and conduct Balvihar classes right from LKG to class 10 where they tell inspiring stories,teach slokas /poems, boost the morale of children etc.

They give equal importance to extra -curricular activities.It is a must for all children to participate in CCA .In academics too ,children are taught to read the whole lesson and assimilate . In exams too ,questions are rarely from their notes or   textbook questions. As they study and learn the whole lesson ,it is easier for them to answer on their own which in turn improves their creativity.

In short if you want your child to have a good spiritual development apart from good mental and physical development ,you may opt for this school. Its purely a personal choice.The school  has also won the Chinmaya Vision Award two yrs back and was rated top CBSE school in Hyderabad in  Indian Express Survey. Fees is quite economical but getting admission in class 3 depends on the vacancy and their entrance test which they conduct in April/May.

Completely agree with you w.r.t. the philosophy and methodology followed at Chinmaya Vidyalaya.

I passed out of the New Delhi branch way back in 1988 and experienced it first hand - still remember the Ojasvi Camp award I got and the Geeta recitals we used to undertake regularly. Just that I was not sure if the Hyderabad branch was well established since I have always been in North.

Glad to know that you were already a student of Chinmaya and a recipient of Ojasvi camp award. The Begumpet Chinmaya Vidyalaya is definitely good and this year Chinmaya Mission has conducted Geeta chanting competitions state wide.

Every year they conduct inter-school competitions in Geeta Chanting but this year the Mission has conducted  competitions state wide.The District and the State level competitions were held in this Vidyalaya.

The students from this school have done very well in Geeta recitals. Many students from all the categories (,sub juniors,juniors, sub- seniors,seniors) from this school could make it to the State level.

There is also a new Chinmaya Vidyalaya at Shamshabad which has started 2 yrs back. 

Don't know much about the new school.

Any idea about DAV Kukatpally and how does it compare with Chinamaya Vidyalaya, Andhra Mahila Sabha P.Obul Reddy Public School and BVB, Jubilee Hills?

Compared to DAV Kukatpally, Sri Chaitanya Concept school is good. Thay have an integrated syllabus of state,CBSE&ICSE and prepare the students for the competitive exams from an early age...not many activities...compared to Chinmaya...

P.ObulReddy is a good CBSE school is also good if u r looking for a nearby school in banjara hills..Dont know much about it

BVB is slightly a bigger school than Chinmaya...I spoke to one of my friend's daughter who studied in Chinmaya Vidyalaya Begumpet and then shifted to BVB.She studies in 9th and says  both are almost same ... She liked Chinmaya culture and activities more it seems..They changed the school as they moved into their new house in Hi-Tech city.

JPHS is also a good CBSE school. My friend's son is studying in class 3. She shifted from a state school and says its a good school with extra curricular activities.Previously it had a reputation of having children whose parents had a strong hold in politics...but now she says there are children whose parents are from different walks of life..  There is no spiritual orientation as compared to Chinmaya.

Chirec in Madhapur is also a good CBSE school  if you are okay with the high structured fees.

Chinmaya Vidyalaya currently is rated as the Best CBSE school in Hyd according to a survey conducted by a leading Newspaper last year. BVB and Chinmaya have neck to neck competition. I have already written in detail about Chinmaya above. Let me write something more about this school. The school has a lot of spriritual orientation and has poojas regularly in which children are also encouraged. Children are exposed to Indian culture and heritage right from the lower classes by celebrating all religious festivals together by the teachers and the students in the school with great faith and fervour. The school also has Matrupuja in the month of Nov where interested mothers can participate. Children are told the importance of parents and especially mother and they perform traditional Indian rituals. 

The school does not keep the parents in dark about admissions unlike other schools and are very fair in their approach and stands up to its principles/values. The school offers very good value based education with strong emphasis on character building with its BalVihar Classes. The spiritual orientation along with Bhagwad Geeta chanting has definitely positive vibes in the school atmosphere .The school also prays before having lunch and after the school hours before the children leave their classrooms along with regular meditation.

The results are also excellent. This year the All India CAT topper who is also an IIT Student is an alumni of this school. The school has many medals and awards in various fields to its credit. There are budding stars in Tennis, Table Tennis and Skating who are leaving a mark in these sports. These children are encouraged a lot. The Tennis Star is getting Scholarship from CBSE Board for the past 4 yrs. The school also releases quarterly  School Newsletter along with Chinmaya Jyothi. The mission has beautiful magazine for children called 'BalVihar' Children's International Monthly magazine, Tapovan Prasad for adults, Chinmaya Udgosh for Youth. The Mission library which is in the school campus has a wonderful collection of books in a very simple language for children at a very nominal price.

The school has a very peaceful ambience and so are the teachers.

BVB is also very good but has less spiritual orientation as compared to Chinmaya Vidyalaya. In BVB children have a spiritual class where they are told some good moral stories, sing some bhajans or hymns.  It is not a compulsion. My friend's daughter says she has many friends who follow Christianity and Islam. It is not culture specific. The results and activities are equally good in BVB.

In Chinmaya, majority are Hindu students and it lays stress on Indian culture. There are children who follow Christianity and Islam too but their strength is very less. More than religion, the school lays stress on character building and values.

Chinmaya Vidyalaya not merely puts emphasis on academics though it is in the forefront in that field, but it also enables the students to adapt to various situations in life through  Chinmaya Vision Programme which includes  integrated development of the personality, inculcation of patriotism, emphasis on Indian culture along with a universal outlook on life. This is a School with a Difference which can be rightly justified.

It does not have transport. But there are many school autos, private vans and two mini buses which cater to the children's needs. The fees is very nominal as it is a non-profit organization. For class 1 fee was 14,100 for the whole year. I think it would be around 15K for class 1 this year. The admission fee also would be nominal.

I am able to tell you in detail about Chinmaya because my daughter is studying here for the past 6yrs and I am very happy with this school. It ‘Believes in Simple living and High Thinking’. There are very good talks for children from time to time by Swamijis along with academic and career counselling for higher classes.

I have come to know from some sources that BVB is demanding 50K- 1 lakh as donation towards its building fund.

Hope my reviews about these schools will help you to decide which one to choose from. You can also talk to other parents from these schools. You will find many of them  the morning hours.

Geetanjali at Begumpet is an ICSE school. Its good and stresses more on academics than extra-curricular activities. Admission in higher classes will depend on the vacancies. You can call up the school now to know the status of admission of pre-primary .(PP1). The forms will be given mostly in Nov or Dec.

In which class are u looking for ? However the approach road to the school is not that good and is very congested. Did u visit the school ? If not , please have a look . As such the school has a good reputation.

Hi Tanco,

You can find Chaitanya Vidyalaya in Lower Tank Bund. Its very good. You can also try in Vidyaranya near Secretariat. Both are very good ICSE schools and have a unique concept of no-uniform.  You can see very good reviews of Vidyaranya too in this forum. Both will be near to Himayat Nagar. You can also try in St .Pauls in Hyderguda but it is a SSC school.

You can try in St Josephs (ICSE) , St Georges Grammar school, Oxford Grammar school, Little Flower school  in King Koti and Abids . Little flower and St. Pauls are State schools having very good reputation. All the schools in Abids/King Koti are pretty old.

You can also find Rishi Public school in Himayat Nagar which folllows CBSE.

Prefer Vidyaranya or Chaitanya Vidyalaya  first.  Please contact these schools or any school which you are interested in, to find out the admission status for Pre-prmary. Most of the schools give the forms in Oct, Nov or Dec.

  I just joined the site now..  It's nice to read detailed review adn updates on the schools. My daughter is studying in Orchids 2nd standard and I am not happy with that school at all. I am planning to explore Chinmaya Vidhayala for class 3rd, from coming academic year.  Any suggestions and inputs on Chinmaya Vidyalaya on availability of admission, any process "know-hows" any recommendations required...   I would really apprecaite any help on this front.

   Secondly, If there are other schools where my child can get integrated personality development and not just a book worm..  I prefer that too..  esp in Jublee hills, Banjara hills and Madhapur, begumpet...

Hi Nls,

You will have to enquire in the month of Mar for availability of seats in class 3 in Chinmaya Vidyalaya. It purely depends on the entrance test. However recommendation from any high Govt official might help. I am not sure. You can try.

Currently I am in New Delhi. I am going to relocate to Begumpet, Hyderabad.

My daugher is now 4.5 and studying Jr.Nursery.

I question is, as we will shit to Begumpet on 1st September, which CBSE school can offer us the seat and what is the fee structure.

My budget is from 25k - 35k only.

After deciding the School, I would like to decide the home.

Apart from HPS, u could try in Niraj Public school (ICSE) , SisterNivedita (CBSE) in Ameerpet  and Chinmaya Vidyalaya(CBSE) and Gitanjali (ICSE) in Begumpet.  All 4 schools are in and around Begumpet/Somajiguda and within your budget.

If you  are open to Banjara and Jubilee Hills, you could try in P Obul Reddy Public school (CBSE) , Kalpa(ICSE) and BVB (CBSE).  JHPS takes heavy donation  hence iam not specifying in the above list.

I don't know the exact fee structures of Kalpa & Euroschool as of now. Kalpa's fees is quite pocket friendly but Chirec is a bit expensive. My neighbour has paid around 1 lakh for LKG in Chirec.

Euroschool is good too. It should be around 70 K. My neighbour paid around 55K two yrs back.   

You can await the response of parents from these schools to know the exact fee structure.
