Anyone applied for Sri Sankara Senior Secondary School, Adyar, Chennai for the Academic year-2012-2013, please let me know about the school admission process. Do they expect recommendations, donations, is there any interview process for kids.

I have applied for admission for my 2nd daughter for LKG this year.
they are very particular about the distance of residence/school.. must be less than 5km.
As such, if the child is able to respond to the questions of the interviewers, then the admission is sure. and they do not ask vague questions.. the questions are very basic like "what is ur name, mother's name, colours, shapes...
My first daughter is also studying there and it is a very good school. they take care of the children very well.
donations are not very huge.. am not sure of how much they will collect this year. I paid 10k in 2008 for my elder daughter.
Anyone received the letter by post, if so by ordinary post or through courier?

My neighbour received direct admission letter through courier from sankara on 21st march. C has sibiling quota.. we also applied and waiting for the result. In that school website they said if we selected we will receive within mar 15..so only 3 days left... just curious anyone got it other than sibilings?

You have mentioned as 21 st march? When they got the letter, what is mentioned in that letter? Can you please confirm with your neighbour.
S.It is on March 21st. They mentioned to bring original birth certificate to meet the principal on 21st. Their elder son is studying there.So they got easily. Anyone got lr other than sibilings? bcoz last year they conduct admission for sibilings one day and general another day. Tharini, whr r u residing? U only hope for sankara or applied any other school? Im in adyar indira nagar. I have heard it is tough to get admission this year. Bcoz only 120 to 140 seats for LKG. Lots of sibiling are there.Last year more than 60 sibilings. After that they select alumini, then management then only general quata. Hmm... lets c.
I have applied for almost all top schools like DAV, Bhavans, MVM, Vidhyamandir etc.,I didnt get anywhere. Because recommendation speaks everywhere. I got in The Indian Public school only. Am in Kotturpuram.Have you got admission in any other schools?

Im looking for the school within adyar. So i applied BVM,Sankara, st.johns besant nagar, Hindu.Heard No admission for LKG to 6th in BVM.Got st.johns and Hindu.But sankara is the good choice. So waiting for sankara. Otherwise i will put in St.johns english school. No option:-(

i got hindu admission and we paid fees, but we too waiting for interview card from sankara. At present my daughter studying pre-Mont in a montessori school, now i feel if
i don't get card i will place her in the same montessori school.

I tried to Call the landline of Sankara school but 2day. But they put the receiver off condition. Atleast if they inform that they have already selected, we will look for other choice. Planning to go directly to the school and ask abt result. Anybody called sankara school?

ANY ONE GOT CALL LETTER FROM ADYAR SANKARA (SSSSS)
I HAVE ENQUIRED SEVERAL PARENTS LIVING AROUND ADYAR, TIRUVANMIYUR / DOCTORS AND ENGG TOO.. NONE OF THEM GOT CALL LETTER. HOPE WE HAVE TO SIT FINGER CROSSED TODAY TOOOOOOOOO.
Is it that STILL we can expect the admission card? In the website it was said that the last day is Mar-15. I checked with couple of other parents and they too have not got. What is their criteria?

HAI ALLI CALLED SANKARA - THEY REPLIED THAT THEY HAVE DISPATCHED 2ND LOT SHORTLY AND ASKED TO WAIT FOR FEW DAYS - PL GET IN TOUCH ITH SCHOOL

Ya they have dispatched the 2nd list -- I hope so. I am in touch with more than 15 parents and none of them received call letter.
Another parent from my area will visit the school at 3 PM and I will update the outcome. HOPE THE BEST

I have called the school thrice today to know the status, but no response. Even i didnt get the interview letter yet.

Today i made a call to Sankara, they asked me to call by tomorrow.

All - I too called the school and got the same response. They said that they have a power cut and asked to call me tomorrow.
So far none of the parents in the forum received letters. Is it because most of us fall in the general category?
