My baby seems contended with breast feed.  The doctor whereas suggests 4-5 top feeds a day.  His point is weight gain for first month should be 1kg, whereas the baby has gained 0.5kg.  My mom says this varies from baby to baby and month to month.  Also, she feels when breast feed is sufficient why consider top feeds?  Thoughts?

I say this from my personal experience - top feed is not good for the baby.Doctors would say for top feed only if the mother's milk is insufficient for the baby and the baby cries out of hunger... As far as weight gain is concerned... ur mother is right..every kid is different....If you feel that ur baby is contend with ur feed..pls dont worry about this issue...try to feed her every two hours and you eat nuticious food...thats all is required.
