 Hi,

We would like to go for complete evaluation/testing for my kid who has been diagnosed with ASD/PDD. We moved here recently. Would you please suggest which one is better among NIMHANS or St. johns or Spastic society?

Much appreciate your response.

Thanks,

Jyoth

 Hi,

NIMHANS is good and Spastics though bit slower, is worth trying. My kid had her 2nd evaluation there, and we met some good hearted people there especially Dr. Bharathi , her inputs were very valuable. Good luck to you,

Selva

We got eval done from spastics, heard nimhans the wait time in longer, st johns may be better options, dr ashok leads the effort there. Also these centers are good for diagnostics, you will need to line up early intervention and therapies after that, speech, OT, ABA, find where your child is lagging and work on that area. Good luck.

I think CCDD is another good option. Dr Nandini Mundukor is a veteran there. The site www.ccdd.in has the details.

We got evaluations done from spastics and dr. Sulatha shenoy. The reports are very different, one says no problem where as the other  one differs with that.

We want to go for third opinion. Which one would you suggest, nimhans or st.johns or dr.nandini mundukor/dr.Chitra sankar at ccdd?

Recently I had eval done at NimHans and my son was found out of spectrum as his CARS score is 27. The wait is really long one but worth it as the doctors and even interns are very kind and make my child comfortable. Dr. Seshadri and Dr. Girimaji are very kind hearted. I have not met but have heard Dr SobhaSrinath is also very good.

NIMHANS is worth the wait... it does a very credible and standardised assessment on your child.that said following the therapy routines can be very difficult at nimhans. you can join apollo clinic jp nagar for ot,or com deall or five

Hi Lita,

My son attented Aurvedic Integrated program at a centre called DOAST in Anna Nagar. they have the Ayurvedic massage along with the ayurvedic medicines to be given. GFCF diet to be followed.. They give little importance to Speech therapy, as their concept is.. when teh eye contact is developed.. all the other aspects would come automatically. you could visit their site for more details.

Hope this info helps.

Thanks Uma for pointing to Doast, it looks very impressive, I have not done Ayurveda yet but I totally agree with their concept that there is a connection between immune disorder and Autism. I feel we need everything, Therapy and a way to heal the gut.

Does it take long time to see the results ?
