Hi aparnab, I dont have any first hand experiences, but I heard that Vidya Valley is a very good school. It has ICSE board. Even I am considering it as one of the probable school for my son if we continue to stay in Pune. I heard its very expensive though I am not sure of the exact fees. Most likely the students are mostly from IT parents working in Rajiv Gandhi Infotech park at Hinjewadi. You can checkout this website  on Pune schools - www.madhuriesingh.com where extensive reviews about some of the schools is already done and others are in progress.

My friend is a renowned councelor for many schools. She receives students from Vidhya Valley also fr councelling. She told me that the students are having attitude problem and having airs in thr mind. They feel like nobody is like us. Even two kids in our neighbourhood are frm same school n I can pucca say they are ill mannered and do certain things which doesnt suit thr age i mean fashion, accessories, blunt at talks.

 Hi All,

I am speaking from first hand experience. I will not recommend Vidya Valley school to any parent or child. There is a lot of intellectual arrogance which manifests itself into attitude problems.

Yes, Most students are arrogant and I had to give a lot of coaching to my children to be inclusive to all. Whereas my children faced discrimination and intellectual abuse and I had to shift my children elsewhere. This discrimination was with active connivance of the teachers. Whereas the principal was more accomodative but seemed ineffective in controlling the teachers.

There is some level of stress on academics. I would encourage parents to talk to the school to get the track records of what the alumni are doing in terms of admissions post 12th std.

not recommended. teachers not very good. not much stress on academics. i agree kids shouldnt be loaded at all but this school is at the extreme end of being non-academics oriented. students a bit ill mannered. good part is that they have pretty big playground

Surprised to see so many negative comments on Vidya Valley. My son along with half a dozen kids from my society attend Vidya Valley. They(VV) are doing a pretty decent job and I have no reasons to be worried. There are regular Parent-Teacher meetings- whenever I go(usually its my wife) I come back reassured that my kid is in good hands.

As for kid's attitude....well kids of today arent what we were ...and we werent what our parents were. I have seen a few boys who happen to study in Loyola and arent the most polite...so does that mean kids form Loyola have attitude problem :).

As far as I understand, Vidya Valley does not claim to be working towards kids getting 99% - thats not the motive. The stated motive is all round development. So if you think thats more important to your kid then go for VV. If you think your kid should work towards 99% maybe some other school is better for that- its your choice(in anycase you will sooner or later send them to those extra coaching classes).

cheers...and happy parenting :)

Ok. Now I am really confused with all these opinions!

I have visited Vidya Valley & met the principal. Overall I am impressed. My only concern is the distance from my residence in Kothrud. But thats secondary..... on serious notes, I read an artcile which mentions that almost 50% of Vidya Valley kids scored above 90% & I think thats commendable.

I am not intending 99% for my kid. I am impressed with the extra curriculars like sports & performing arts that they concentrate on. I feel this builds up a child's overall personality.

So can someone let us know the first hand experience about the academic standards & whether they actually follow these extra activities in the school or it is just an attraction mentioned on their website?

I wouls also like to know about Millenium National School located at Karve Nagar.

They are also following some unconventional methods of teaching & have great emphasis on the sports activity. The campus is huge & beautiful.

Can anyone with first hand experience comment about this school?

Thanks,

Avani

@ monica450: Why dont you check out Vidya Valley website for admission procedure. They have mentioned everything in detail. My daughter got admission last year and I am really happy with the school. And as someone rightly said above if you are looking for an overall development of your child go for Vidya Valley else just for 99% in academics you should look at other schools.

I read the FAQ's of Vidya Valley School and they really sound very rude in FAQ's itself.

Check out the link below:

http://vidya-valley.com/admissions-jrkg-std1.html

They are asking parents to use their common sense!

@puneetgr8 @chicky - I think its like a no nonsense kind of a school. They have a fixed set of expectation from parents. Lots of parents come with a below average kind of requests which they dont want to entertain. And even if you go to the noticeboard and read the notices on their website you will find such kind of language but may be you can say they are straighforeward in conveying. There is no attitude problem at all. This is what I feel as per my ineraction in last few months.I also suggest you should regularly visit Vidya Valley website and follow the content (Latest News and Notice Board) and compare it with any other school website in Pune... You will get your answer!

As mentioned by many other parents here, the tone used in FAQ's on following link is really having some problem, may be it is attitute/arrogance or they are over confidence whatever....

http://vidya-valley.com/admissions-jrkg-std1.html

Following is a sample content from FAQ

Can I visit the school to look around?

No. Sorry. Not that it is a secret, but we can't manage "edu-tourism". You will be visiting us when submitting the application form at our office. That's good enough. For any information speak to students or their parents. They are the right ambassadors of the school.

None of this is intended to be rude. It's just that we can't manage it any other way - i.e., run a school and manage prospective parents.

Yes but I take it as straight forward attitude but not as rude attitude. BTW what is the fee structure for Vidya valley Jr Kg class?

I too take it as a straight foreward attitude.  @Vicky80 you can check the fee structure for jr.kg on their website. My daughter is in Grade 1 and we pay fifty thousand per annum which includes the food as well (Breakfast and Lunch). Initial admission fee one time is seperate.
