Leg pain - Page 1

Hi all,

I am 23 week pregnent, now a days i feel severe leg pain (left) along with back pain especially during night, it goes off in the morning.

Can any one suggest is it normal symtom or do i need to take care any special treatment.

hi asha,

i can understand your pain but that is normal for many women. normally it starts during 3rd trimister. as the child grows, it puts pressure on your nerves which causes pain in your legs, especially at night when you dont move about.

i had the same problem but it was gone after my baby's birth. i used to move around and apply tiger balm and hot water bottle which helped a bit.

Yeah i have also heard abt it.. though i didnt go thru it during my pregnancy... i ve read in "Dr Spock's pregnancy guide"  tat a lady cud nt bear her leg cramps in the middle of a night & she screamed out of her bed.. her husband thought that she had her delivery pain & jumped out preparing to leave to the hospital.. & realized it was only a leg pain which got better in some time... :-)

So relax u re going thru something tat appears to be quite normal.. But u can let your doc know abt it & ask her how to handle the pain if its bothering you much...

i hd the same problems n actually wud cry all nigt due to the pain(more like cramps)..tis tarted around 2nd month n i couldnt tk it anymore....went to a good orthopedic...he prescribed some calcium supplements(some other vitamin supplements too...dnt remember now)i ws fine within a week....
