Hi All,

This is a request letter to you and your fellow members of the organisation for support to a cause highlighting the lack of adequate arrangements for security of our children in schools.

I would like to draw your attention to the death of a child (Japneet Singh)  on 9th of August 2011 in Delhi (Refer Times of India Reporting Link “ http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/delhi/Kid-run-over-by-own-school-bus-in-east-Delhi/articleshow/9544847.cms “). He was my nephew and we are still in shock on what happened to our family due to negligence of a driver and the school authorities we had placed our trust upon to have a better future of our child. The family is still not able to recover from the irreversible loss and tragedy.

We would like to draw attention of the concerned authorities to the inadequacy of arrangements in schools and the transportation system and would like to bring a change in the system so that these kind of avoidable mishaps can be prevented and this does not happen to any other family in India or World.

For this we would need association and support of organisations as yours and would request you to come forward and support the cause.

Also if possible would appeal you to bring forward other organisations you may be part of, to the cause and make our society and education system more safe for our loving children.

 Thanking You,

 Vikram Singh (Uncle of Japneet)

Arvinder Singh (Father of Japneet) (09810270288)

Ripu Daman Kaur (Mother of Japneet)

  Hi Vikram Singh,

Please accept my deepest sympathies and condolences. The incident is so very shocking and no words can comfort the grief of parents n all the family members.

May God give you enough strength to bear this irreversible loss and tragedy.

Take care...

Mickey

Yes Mr. Singh,

I am in consent with every point that you have mentioned. I agree that small kids, especially in the age group of 3 yrs. are no where ready to bear the burden of heavy school books and bags.

Second, I am sure that the loss that you have gone through is unbearable and it will only  heal with time, but the initiative that you want to take for the security of small children in the society is worth an attention and support from every parent and guardian who care for their child.

I am sure such incidence was witnessed in the past by many families, but it is only due to no awareness made by them that this incidence has been repeated. I request other parents/guardians to extend their support and make the school authorities aware of the situation, so that no one looses his/her life on cost of someone’s negligence.

Also, school authorities should consider and bring in place strict measures and rules for parents, teachers, attendants, conductors and drivers. Safety measures while travelling should ensure that if any child travels by school transport, he/she should be handed over to his/her parents safely before leaving the place.

Stringent measures will only be brought if all of us join the move with you and bring the complicity of this issue to the notice of relevant authorities.

We are there for your support and call for other votes

Hi,

Would liketo back the above points. It is very sad that these incidents happen in our so called educated society and fraternity.

We entrust our children to study in our schools, keep our budgets tight so that the hefty fees of a reputed school can be timely deposited, try to make sure that our children are safe by enrolling into the so called benefits offered by schools like their own transport system et all. And what do we get in return..... a callous school staff, management who are not even bothered about safety of our kids.

This accident of death of this cute little kid should be an eye opener for all the parents to stand up and make sure that the arrangements are water tight and policies are made and acted upon. Instead of schools being money churning machines for the owners, they should also fulfil their duty of imparting quality education to our children and at the same time ensuring their safety.

Take Care.

Vikram
