My son is studying in 7th Standard and i being single working mother. My son is master in oral but though he knows the answers well he doesn't write anything in his exams . Inspite of giving him training in writting he still does the same. Appreicate advices in this regards.
Hi Chinta,
I was a working mother 3yrs back... My son is now 12yrs in 7th std and doing pretty well in his studies. But couple of years back it was not so.. He used to make a lot of careless mistakes in the exams though he always knew all the concepts n the answers...Then I quit my job...
I started making him write more at home.. Instead of listening to his answers orally i used to ask him to write it down in front of me.. That way his revision was also better n any careless mistakes in spellings or any mistakes in maths problem was also corrected ...Also started giving him mock tests at home... The improvement didn't happen overnight but it did make a huge difference...
Try these, am sure you will see the difference sooner than later...
Hi Shiba
Thank you very much for your response. As you mentioned even i had tried the same resigning the job and made him do the same. But when i do he expects me to be all the time with him even in school. He does well only when i am present in school with him during his exams. Now he is interested more only in Science subject and does well only in one particular subject. Being a single parent and only bread winner at home. I need to concentrate in my work too.
I would be happy if anyone can give an advice on educational councelling for him. Will that help him. Can anyone suggest me on this
a change in learning pattern during puberty could be suggestive of issues of adolescence, while such a learning pattern from the very beginning could be suggestive of a learning difficulty (with psychological features). in either case, you may need to see a teen-counsellor or special educator to help him out
