not very sure of books coz i had dropped the DD before the due date (30th April) and i am yet to receive the books...... i heard from a friend of mine that books are available in the campus after 25th Just check i am not sure on this......

we need to come on 28th to collect the admission slip for kids......the slip will mention the section in which the child is going to and the school opening date for that particular section......each section has a different reopen date for LKG its starts from A section first and then B C D etc, its optional to get kids or not.......

My son Abhimanyu has got admission to Bishop Cottons Boys School and will be starting in June of this year.  I am a little nervous because he is my older child and this is the first time he will be attending a structured / traditional school. I am sure he will be able to cope, but I dont know what is expected of the parents, I just wanted to be prepared for whats coming and know what to expect  :)

I have paid the fees and bought the uniforms, I still need to get the books..does anyone know where and how i can get them. Is it still possible for me to order them using the drop box at the school?

Also, one of the discussions mentioned that May 28 all parents are to come to the school, is this true, do we need to bring the child?

There are many international schools has poped up on Srjapura area.I would suggest you to go and personally visit them but before that be sure about the curriculum you are looking for.Below  are the few of the best schools in that area...

Oakridge - CBSE (starting this year in Bangalore) Not sure about academics

Indus International -  IB School ( Good School, but expensive)

Greenwood High Interational School - IB , IGCSE ,ICSE (Awarded Best School in 2012) but very strict on admission

Inventure Academy - IGCSE,ICSE ( Mixed Reviews)

DPS Whitefield - Typical CBSE School ...mixed reviews

Primus Public School - One of the good Indian school..strict on admission

Remember - 

1. Ask for class size

2. Experience of teachers

3. No.  of Extracurricular activities

4. Co -curricular activities

5. Labs

6. Counselor

7.Insist for tour and look at the facility,class and infrastructure etc.

bang opposite to Namdharis Superstore in Jayangar 5th Block on the 10th Main , 36th Cross. Though I have not taken classes from this centre , have heard quite a few ppl going to this centre for Yoga classes.

My son is born in May 2011. He is now 2 yrs old. Planning to admit my son into play group in Euro Kids, AECS Layout this year i.e. June 2013 onwards. What bothers me is

(1) should I wait and admit him to Big schools with LKG next year or continue in EuroKids till UKG. Also, would the big schools give admission without my son completing his nursery?

(2) Also, my concern is wouldn't he be losing 1yr if he continues in EuroKids? i.e., by the time he completes UKG he will be of 6yrs age.

Your valuable suggestions would be of great help.

My kids study at Inventure & I understand the dilemma a mother goes through while deciding on a school... after all who wants their children to crib about going to school every morning... this is the second school for my children in 4 years & i would say from my personal experience that it's a great school for anybody who looks for international standards of education. They give equal emphasis on academics & extra curricular activities... The food served at the school is also nice & healthy..

I also know that few parents have brought White set for their kids for LKG too....

recently DPS whitefield has introduced Bhagirathi travels for transport services. their pick up point is Deens Academy, but i am living around 500 m away from this point. i have requested them to pick up the kid from apartment but not sure if they will do that. what alternatives do i have?

is there any other transport service available for DPS whitefield?

can we talk to teh school and try to sort out this?

I am swathi & my kid got admission in Nursery in Kumaran DKS.

(1) I want to know regarding the private transport other than school transporation. Does any one leaves from Jayanagar 9th block to Kumaran DKS?

(2) Whether the school bag will be provided in school or not?

(3) how to take the kids on the first day of the school either parents or by the school transportation?

So starting this discussion thread to have the parents post their questions and views about this school. I live in Malleshwaram in Bangalore. My husband works in Manyata Tech park. I am an Engineering graduate with 5 yrs working exp in Infosys as S/W Engineer. I have two children. The eldest studys in cluny convent school is 8 yrs old while the youngest is 3 .5 yr and shall be joining school from next year. We as parents are in a dilemma. I want to do higher studies as my husband is supportive. The issue is if i want to continue study, i will have to join college in Bangalore then the children have no one to care for them in Home until i come back. My husband usually comes home late from office. Our parents are too old to come and stay with us and are staying in Mysore. I would like to know how some of you are managing work/career and children.
