My son, Raghav, who is in second standard, is a happy go lucky child who loves to play. I constantly chide him for playing more and studying less. Somehow, he always manages to prove that he knows what is being taught in school. On one such occasion, he wanted to share with us his knowledge regarding the properties of all living things. "All living things respond to stimulus," he proudly told me. Then he went up to my daughter, Radhika, who is five years older than him, and pinched her. After Radhika screamed, "ouch" and rubbed her arm, my son looked at me and said, " See, all living things respond to stimulus." Talk about putting theory into practice!
As you can imagine, all of us had a hearty laugh. We are, however, a little more cautious now, when asking our children to show us what they know;)
