Hi Dulu,

Had been to Blue Ridge on Saturday.

Infrastructure- Very impressive. Capacity of 4 divisions of Pre Primary & 8 divisions of Primary per class. Classrooms are specious and airy. Sufficient no of wash rooms per floor and are clean. The work of play grounds is on and the grounds will be ready within the couple of month.

According to me the plus points are-

1) Since Paranjape Bldrs is committed to the promoses made towards Blue Ridge Township buyers, they will complete the things promised to maintain the reputaion.

2) I know Balmohan Vidyamandir, Mumbai and Paranjape School, Kothrud- Pune. These two schools are well reputed. So we can hope this venture will also be successful and thus can trust the school management even though there is not a single academic professional on the board. (same is there with Wisdom School)

3) Since the construction is on there will not be any problem regarding the maintenance of the school premises, atleast for next 3 to 4 years.

4) There has to be 9 acres of land reserved for the play grounds because the plan sanctioned by the corporation clearly shows it.

5) All the staff members including admin staff strictly speaks in English.

6) For the first few years they will do their best to establish the brand name.

In addition to this I found it quite transperent. I was also suggested to visit the school during the week day so that I can actually see the way the school works.

I am also looking for my kid in Std 4 next year. I have shortlisted WWS and Blue Ridge. Any information/ updates from your side are welcome.

Anu.

My daugter is in Blue Ridge and i really like the school. The kid enjoys it there (1st grade).

We had initially admitted her in WWS (Wisdom World) and did not like the attitude of the principal towards the kid. Also the teachers were not approachable.

However i like Blue Ridge as they are focussing on the overall development if kid rather than the stereotype way. Also they have no exams till class 2.

Hi,

Had the interaction with the Principal yesterday. She seemed to be quite approachable. She was associated with the Paranjape School, Kothrud for last 6 years and had played an important role in growth of the school.

When I asked her that if out of 20 students in the class 2 are not able to grasp certain concepts, what will be the reaction of the teachers and what will be the consequent action taken by them; she said that as a teacher she believes in giving her 90% to the 2 students to improve and 10% to the rest to maintain.

I also came to know when the two students from higher classes were not able to complete their Marathi project because of the non Maharastrian background, she invited them in her cabin with the material and helped them complete the project by giving necessary input and guidance.

In sports the kids are introduced with the traditional sports like marbles, Kho-Kho, Kabbadi along with Skating, Tenis, Cricket.

In lower classes say Std 1 & 2 the emphasis is given on Reading with understanding and building confidence than putting academic pressure.

Most of the projects are done in the school by the child under the guidance of the teacher rather than at home by the parents.

Hi,

Could any one of you tell me about residential facilities in Hinjewadi? I do not like children travelling more a couple of kms. to school. I do not mind moving there on rental basis.

And how many divisions does Blue Ridge plan to open up as of now(out of 8)? Any idea? (My kids are currently in 1st and 3rd)

Thanks

Meena

WWS school was a BAD experience for us.We removed our kid from there after 1 month of attending the school.

My daughter studies there in Blue Ridge in Standard 1st and i really like the school. My kid loves to go to school everyday.

Infrastructure:Very good

Teacher student ratio:Very good

The principal is very simple and approachable. The teaching pattern is fully project based .They have lots of fun activities eg they get a BIG Snakes and Ladder and children play that in school to learn counting, they are shown movies, they have a kite flying day, they had a wonderful annual day. They have regular ongoing competitions in school for story telling, recitation, drawing and many more which will improve the social skills of the child.

Currently for sports they have skating but soon their soccer and tennis ground will be ready.

There are no exams till std 2nd and regular evaluation is done in school for a child based on the below parameters:1.Discipline 2.Cleanliness 3.Regularity 4.Academics 5.Participation etc

Hi Meenas,

Blue Ridge is located in the Blue Ridge Township. There are other townships coming up in the vicinity e.g. Megapolise. You have ample choice of rental house/ flat in the surrounding areas like Baner, Balewadi, Wakad.

As far as travelling ia concerned, take any school you have to travel for min 5-8 kms. You can avoid the same only if you reside in Blue Ridge Township for Blue Ridge School, Park Street for WWS and Sus village for Vidya Valley.

I had a word with Blue Ridge Principal. There'll be total 8 divisions for each class from 1st onwards. For class 3& 4 presently there is only 1 division. This means getting admission is not a problem. She also mentioned that they are going to conduct the assessment for admission even for a single applicant as per the rule.

You pls visit the school ASAP as the admission forms are available only till 8th Jan.

Hi,

I have visited the school campus today & found that the owner of the school have their township, u hv to cross check the same. ur view is very good.

meenas 2011-01-10 16:21:56

Thanks stronganu

The Blue Ridge Township and Megapolis and the other projects that are regularly advertised...aren't they all under construction? I don't think anything will be ready by June 2011. Park Street for WWS...but no shopping amenities nearby...very limited. Anyways I'm still getting mixed reviews for WWS...haven't yet been called the interview call(2nd and 4th stds.)

Should I wait for Blue Ridge next year, by then the township should also be ready and 8 divisions means admissions should be available right?

Let's see...just a little confused

But once again Thanks

Meena

Hi Meena,

Megapolis- One of my relatives has purchased a flat there. They will be giving possesion within a couple of months(as I heard).

But I would suggest you to choose Baner/ Balewadi than Hinjewadi to reside.

Hi all,

I was following this discussion to decide upon which school to get my daughter admitted to. She was selected for both Wisdom world and Blue ridge for std1. But I had a mixed review for Wisdom world and i was not convinced on child getting loaded with homework and also the teacher children ratio is very high there(1:40). In our interaction in Wisdom World i also felt that the environment in school could put much pressure on the child. I have preferred Blue ridge as it has a more friendly environment and hopefully kids will have less pressure on them. Will be very happy to share experience with parents whose kids will be going to Std1 in june in Blue Ridge.

Regards,

GS

 Hello,

Anu, GS - It is a blessing to read some reviews about Blue Ridge School online, especially since the school is relatively new.

I am moving from Mumbai to Pune (Blue Ridge township) in the summer and I am looking for admission for my son for Grade 3.

Do you still feel very positive about the school?  Are the teachers very experienced?  How do you find the method of teaching? Are students encouraged to question / reason out ?  The biggest advantage at the blue Ridge school would be that it is at a walking distance from the township.  All other schools that I looked up online are at a minimum 5 Kms away and I hear, the traffic situation at Hinjewadi is a nightmare during peak hours.

The other school that I liked is Indira National School (CBSE).  The school is more estanblished.  They have the option of french as a 3rd language. (blue ridge school said they would offer german in the 8th grade onwards).

Any feedback is welcome.  Thanks.
