Some people r telling honey will increase weight of baby if u mix with warm milk..
Is it true friends???
can anyone suggest me hw to give honey to kids..
Thanks in advance.
in my understanding honey shouldnt be given to kids below 1 year of age..many docs say it causes bloating, since infant's tummy is not ready to digest the bacteria in honey. but after 1 year of age, honey can be digested well by kids. it does have very good effects. but the only thing is that you need to find pure and good honey (unlike the highly sweetened ones found in supermarkets). i normally get litchi honey from my hometown. its pure and not as sweet as the packaged ones. i use it to give medicines, to sweeten milk, to cleanse skin..it has multiple benefits :)
I m asking for 1 y 4 months baby.We r also using from home town pure honey.or we will buy lion dates honey from shops.
But my question is whether it will increase weight if we mix it with milk..
Can u clear my point.
Thankx in advance.
i dont know about weight in particular, but yes, honey has very good health effects
Honey is really good, when suffering from cold. But avoid it in summers...
after 1year of age it is ok to give honey instead of sugar. it helps especially if the child has cough / sore throat. but give all sweet things in minimum amount as milk teeth are going to be out and they get affected by seets consumption. sweets also reduce appetite. sweets are on the top of the food pyramid so they should be consumed in minimum
In Ayurveda honey is called "yogavahi" which means catalyst.it improves the action of any food you are taking along with. When you are giving with milk,it improves the nourishing effects of milk.It does not increase the bulk of the person as such. however excessive use of it may increase the weight and makes one drowsy. At any point of time honey should not be mixed with hot milk as it may turn poisonius.. Only lukewarm milk should be used
Thank you for you advice, I never knew hot milk with honey may turn poisonius.
Thankx for ur reply.
now i m clear in my doubt.
Once again thanks.
