 Hi Sus,
Himalaya's baby lotion is very safe and effective. You can also use Bakson's Aloe vera and calendula cream to keep her skin supple, smooth and free from minor rashes n irritation. Bakson is a homoepathic company.  I have been using it ( aloevera cream) for my daughter when she turned 2.5 and have been using it till date. She is now 3.8.

I started Himalaya products when she showed  allergic symptoms towards Johnson's products.

Rgds,
Mickey

My son also showed allergy to Johnson products he is 2.3. Doc suggested not to apply oil and then give bath and to switch to Dove white or hamam. Parents, can dove be used for such a small kid, please advise.

TEDIBAR soap can be used for kids, easily available in medical stores, my daughter had rashes of johnson's product, so doctor had suggested this one. we use the same for my daughter

Exactly...even am using Tedibar soap for ma kid. Even though the rashes have reduced, it hasn't completely gone. Perhaps due to dry skin, he has got a itching sensation after the morn bath. can anyone suggest a remedy?

Hi,

From my personal I would only recommend the Nature soap by Auronature and a few other soaps from Auroville like Auromere.

I also found out recently that the shampoo and conditioner from Isha foundation are reasonably priced and free of any chemicals, seem to be working well for my children.

Shobha.

@winy1984 you can use momate lotion for these kind of rashes, its waterlike, can apply after bath.

 Hi Sus,

You can get Himalaya products in any supermarket these days else u can get in Himalaya outlets. You can get  Bakson's Aloevera n calendula cream in any homeo store. It costs Rs 55/-

You could try soap suggested by Shobha too.

Hi Shobha, Any idea where we can get these in Hyd ? Can we get it in medical stores ?

Hi Brilladith, It is better to avoid Dove at this age. You could try other mild soaps. I have used  Himalaya for my new born  too .

Rgds,
Mickey

My ped has always recommended to use TEDIBAR soap for my daughter. It's a nice soap and doesn't make the skin go dry like johnsons.

try G&H lotion and body shampoo from Amway. these are very very good. I use it for my entire family.

 Hello,

Having a lot of experience regarding lotions and moisturisers as my son has eczema since 4 weeks old (now he is 2 yrs and 4 months) I can say that the best soap and lotions are the ones which DONT contain the following chemicals:

1. Parabens

2. SLS (Sodium Laureth Sulphate)

3. Artificial fragrance

Hope this helps

Durba

 Former member 2011-01-31 12:10:15

hi sceptical..im from chennai and here we get it in medical shops..so try if u get it in some medicals there in hyd.

 Former member 2011-01-31 12:31:17

AVOID-

J & J

Amway

Disney

Since all of these contain chemicals which are harmful (Slow poisons)

For babies-

Bath- Malai mixed with Besan Floor

Shampoo- Use awala power and wash thouroly, and apply warm oil after head wash.

Save your time, money and childrens skin and health .

Hi Sheetal,

My son has scattered white pigmentation on his cheeks, and is making his face very odd. Doc told to avoid JJ and apply oil only after bath ( i used to apply gingelly oil and then give warm bath). I use JJ shampoo for my son.

And, Do you mean amala powder, how do we prepare this.

Lizu 2011-01-31 13:13:18

Hi Sheetal,

Nice tips. Thank you.

My children's skin is basically dry and after trying a lot of options, i would recommend mothercare baby body soap and body lotion.

 hi sceptical,

Tedibar soap is available in apollo pharmacy anywer in chennai...not sure abt hyd.

 Former member 2011-02-01 10:55:16

u r welcome sceptical...i wud also like to let u know tht TEDIBAR soap does not belong to 'no tears' kind of soaps. So if your little one is too young for such soaps, then u may try J&J's Top to Toe...this is what i used for my kid till she was 2yrs (for both body and while shampooing after applying oil)  and it was a gud one. She was allergic to J&J baby oil though.

sceptical 2011-02-05 19:51:29

thanks nila and winy.....yesterday i bought tedibar soap from apollo phermacy here.

@ nila my kid is 2.3 years old..and J & J soap does make her skin harsh

Ashus 2011-02-06 12:31:21

Mickey...i agree i started using calendula from last to last month for my kid...it really good. She even had too chap lips(dryness) problem..but calendule worked really well for same.

spsbhardwaj 2011-02-06 13:17:37

 Former member 2011-02-06 13:54:55

@spsbharadwaj

Just apply and rub gently warm virgin coconut oil or mustard oil one hour beffore bath.

then wash the hair thorougly with warm water and mild shampo/soap.

the flakes will disappear in two washes.

Tries and tested successfully on my bay.

spsbhardwaj 2011-02-06 15:43:54

 hi Sheetal,i'll definately  try it.thanks,,,

 Former member 2011-02-07 10:21:50

Hi Sceptical..no, i wasnt talking abt J$J soap...it was abt J&J 'Top to Toe' which comes in a bottle. It is soap-free. But at 2.3yrs I guess using a no-tears formulation is not really required..

winy1984 2011-02-09 13:15:06

 hey nila,

Actually i tried using 'top to toe' JJ liquid soap long back when he was 1.5 yr old. But he doesn't feel that he's taken a bath. And ther's not much of lather or bubbles coming out.

poojaditi 2011-02-09 14:12:42

hi sus1

i started using himalaya products as my daughter also showed allergic reactions to Jhonsons products.I am quiet satisfied with the brand. It is ayurvedic formulation

 Former member 2011-02-09 14:57:35

hi winy...may be it doesnt give out much lather since it is meant for babies n is very mild...but as far as my case is concerned, it didnt hurt her skin and eyes and so i used it till about she was 2yrs and then switched to tedibar when i felt she was ready for soaps..but this one i cant use on her hair n so i still use top to toe for shampooing her hair after oiling.
