I will have to check for some other schools as it is too high for my kid....

I have my children going to IPS since last one week. My son goes to Grd V and daughter to LKG. I'm just looking to befriend the mum's of children going to these classes. We have just mved from the UK to Chennai after 10 yrs. So am indeed very eager to communicate with parents of children going to V, LKG so I can take your help/advice in understanding as to what the school and classes are like. Thanks. Asha
My children go to TIPS as well but they are in Grade IV and UKG. We moved from USA three years back to Coimbatore and my children were studying in TIPS CBE. We've just moved to Chennai and they just love the school here as well. I must say, they are pretty happy campers there ! There is another bigger post on The Indian Public school here which might be of help to you. If you need more information please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Would love to help :-)
I am looking at this school for my children aged 4 and 8. I heard grade 3 and up are moving to Taramani campus. Is that right?
Yeah.. From grade 3 upwards all the classes are being shifted to Taramani campus.
My kids are studying in this school in Grade I and V and i could see a huge transformation in them over a period of time. They were in a CBSE school previously and very good at academics and thats about it. But now, their attitude, creativity, confidence and communication have all come up so well and i'm more than happy about it. I'm able to see a holistic development in them rather than just being a book worm and good at academics alone. I would surely recommend this school to everyone who are interested in their child's overall growth.
can you tell me where exactly is the Taramani campus? I would like to talk to you. Can you email me your number at lauvshree at gmail dot com?
My kids would be in UKG and grade IV.

I am planning to put my son in good school. As this discussion forum is going on for the last 2 years thought of getting feedback and after joining experience. I am concerned about kids future compared to CBSE Vs IGCSE.
My daughter has been in TIPS CHENNAI for 3 years. The school has a lot of positive points but there is one negative aspect that takes over all the positive ones.
Let me start with the good points- good student teacher ratio, staff v friendly, very adaptable for new children, very safe transport, good communication with parents thro meetings and diary.
Coming to the negative aspect - ORAGADAM. The IB board requires that you have a well equipped outdoor learning centre and TIPS has put up the centre in oragadam in view of geocity. So every week they take the kids there. And I must tell you guys we went there for the sports meet and the journey was so tiring and I can imagine poor kids going every week and sometimes 2-3 times a week when they have an event coming up. They do have a hall for P.E in school but nothing can compare to a outdoor playground. Children will build stamina only if they have regular sports activity everyday, you cant expect a child to run or practise for 3-4 hours a day just because you've taken them to Oragadam. So if you are planning to send your child for some sort of training everyday after school then TIPS is fine, if not every week you can expect complains abt leg pain when thy go to Oragadam. We have spoke to the mgmt many times and even now after shifting the school to Taramani from 3rd std they still dont have a playground there.
Finally 2 things - I am planning to shift my child out next year andTIPS chennai is not IB certified, only CBE TIPS is certified. hope this helps
