best teaching method for pre-schoolers (smart school vs. montessori) : Urgent response pls.

Hi All,

This is my first blog on this site and anticipating a quick response from those who have knowledge on this key issue - smart class vs. montessori system of eduction for pre-schoolers that works best for them on a long run.

I am new to chandigarh and as such figuring out best schools around sec. 49 took some precious time and on top of that....our search for schools led us to know about progressive schools using smart class (audio-visual aids). This came across as a welcome and pleasant system of education, esp. for children of the age 2-5 yrs. who make thier first steps towards education and as parents, our endeavour is to make their journey valuable and an enjoyable experience.

Initially, before getting acquainted to smart schools...i had made up my mind to send my son aged 2.9 yrs. to montessori...as i was impressed with their teaching method but the schools i cam across. were not purely montessori and moreover i was not convinced with the school/parent -coordinator interaction vis-a-vis the hefty fees charged! Now, i intend to send my son to The Millenium School in Mohali which is a smart school and does fit well as per our expectations.

Can someone pls. share the review about Millenium school and also the benefits a child gets from going to a smart school when compared to montessori. Also the adjustabilty issues when the child shifts to a regular school using taditional methods.....awaiting a quick response....thanks!

thanks....that was re-assuring to know! After having an interaction with the principal and having a look at the school premises i think we r pretty convinced with out decision to go ahead....hope the kids who study in smart school does adjust to other normal schools too, if the need arise in future....

My son is in junior school and I am very happy with the school...education in the school is quite practical in nature ...not much traditional method...staff is quite professional in nature..do let me know if you happen to need more info...
